Re: Sicarius for Ebola?
They are found in Southern Africa so I wodl try homeopathic pharmacies in SOuth Africa
The pharmacist in Cape Town retired (A.White,Plein St Cape Town) but they MAY have leftover remedy supplies.
James Last in Johannesburg/Gauteng is another name.
But I would not consider these as an Ebola prevention or genus epidemicus. They miss the point.
As it says in the old article you posted, they codl not explain the deaths from teh assumed hemorhage or factor VII assumptions.
Yet the real cause is mentioned almost by accident in passing and then not alluided to again - it is dehydration.
Death in ebola is by dehydration - we know that now. The author there was assuming death was due to failure of clotting factor VIII, adn was due to hemorrhage.
But as even that article says, hemorrhage did not explain what was seen.
Ebola has not got spider symptom similarity. There are no eschars, the big issue is the repositioning of fluid cmpartments leaing no liquid in the blood.
DIC involves more than coagulation in the blood vessels in ebola, there is total dehydration of the blood vessels. Blood without liquid cannot circulate. That is the true cause of ebola death.
The dehydration (inside the blood vessels) sets in early and fast in ebola and IS the true cause of death, with most relevant secondary aspects being kidney failure and liver failure, and the hemorrhage aspect is messy but not deadly.
The blood OUTSIDE the blood vessels is short of clotting factors but blood INSIDE the blood vessles is DRY and clotted.
SO the spider story is NOT a match to the disease - which is better understood now than when the (untested) spider theory was written.
Cinchona officianalis would my choice.my OPINIOIN...(not medical advice) for Ebola prevention.

Re: Sicarius for Ebola?
I don't know where you are going with this.
All that was wanted and asked for was a pharmacy that carried the remedy. All the the other remedies under consideration are easily available - Sicarius isn't.
Until any remedy is tested (we don't have time for a full proving in this instance but that would be nice) we won't know which ones relate well to Ebola.
A significant chuck of our materia medica, from Hahnemann onwards, started with toxicology reports. With some remedies we still have nothing better.

I think we're over rep'ing . .
Crot-h is one of six remedies indicated for hemorrhagic fever, of which Ehola is in the class of . . Crot-h is the first remedy named by three rep's I've seen for Ebola. Crot-h is the only remedy I know of at his time that has reportedly worked to cure hemorrhaging from Ebola.
The question should be how do we get remedies known to work for hemorrhagic fevers, like Crot-h and Phos., Sul-ac., Mill., Lach., Carb-v into the hands of people who are dealing it

Re: Sicarius for Ebola?
Thanks Irene,
While I think China is in contention, a lot happens before death by dehydration.
It may well be that Ebola (like cholera, which is also death by dehydration but according to reports, not well treated by China) will need different remedies for different stages.
If we had better lines of communication into these countries...
I just received a reply from Paul Booyse who says:
However, if you look at possible remedies similar to Ebola in pathology, look at the Boomslang snake. Symptoms include fever lymphadenopathy and haemorrhage.
Dispholidus typus.

Re: Sicarius for Ebola?
As far as I know, China is used for the effects of dehydration not to treat dehydration itself......so first step in the treatment, get an IV with plenty of fluid until diuresis is restored, then get China.
No???

Re: Sicarius for Ebola?
Yes.
The ebola effects of dehydration, lead to the China selection.
Fran, I have not looked in detail at the cholera dehydration issues but IF the diarrhea is what leads to cholera dehydratrion, that is a very different trigger mechanism altogether than the compromised blood vessel integrity as is the cause of direct blood vessel liquid removal in eg Ebola or FIP.
Ebola and FIP have different mechanisms for removing liquidity from blood but both do that; and China specifically covers loss of fluid associated with loss of blood vessel integrity, and involving effusion out of the bloodstream.
The "big picture" of how it happens, matters.
I research FIP and so I can say that China has been a good remedy there, and also that Apis has not, though Apis is the one most homepathic vets try, and is in most vethom texts (all the ones I have seen other than mine) and also the one suggested in books by h omeopathic vetgs, and on vethom llists by homepathic vets. SO it is widely advocated but has never solved a case.
The reason China is good not Apis (for FIP) is the same principle for arguing China forr ebola - it is WHY the syptoms is there, not just that it is there. that matters.
In FIP, the "swelliing/edema" is from effusion - pointing to China - and the "high heat" of it is from viral replication - pointing to china - and the accumulated fluid is from the leaked blood serum - pointing to China.
(Apis may be more relevant where hot inflammatory fluid is drawn by normal but excessive inflammatory mechanism response into cells, and not by contrived abnormal means from leaks due to compromised blood vessels.) In Ebola the transport of fluid out of the blood can be fast enough to induce hypovolemic shock.
This is all to do with how blood vessels work to keep fluid in therm. That is the China pointer for dehydration.
Yes:-)
It is also the standard of care per the drs dealing with ebola - to get an IV going asap - if they can!
They spent hours trying to get one into a vessel with a recent case reported in detail, a woman scientist - and were in fear of losing her just becasue getting a needle in was so difficult. Fortunately they got someone there in time who could achieve it.
I think we ignore the essential "blood vessel integrity" issue of ebola dehydration at our peril when selecting a remedy.
Namaste,
Irene

Re: Sicarius for Ebola?
Um yes I lived in a boomslang (literally = tree snake) area and removed several of them from the house, one napping behind the phone, one in my child's upper bunkbed, another in the kitchen, and one wandered into the livingroom during tea time casually wiggling between the legs of several people before panic ensued when we saw it. It did not run! But we did.
(We lived next to Tokai forest in Cape Town)
Later in a built up suburb (Plumstead, Cape Town) my cat Loki, also proudly caught one and came to me to brag about it. (Typical sulph cat) He had it in his teeth where the heart was; how did he know to bite a third the way down not to get bitten? Or did he get bitten? I gave him Lachesis just in case; he was okay.
Boomslang venom causes whole blood leaking into the body tissues (not just the liquid component) and kills in 24 hrs using enzymes to digest proteins. The main toxins are metalloproteinases - enzymes that break down proteins - and also a fibrinolytic component.
This is true bleeding to death, or worse, being digested as well. The body kindof liquifies to bloody mush. There is an anitivenom these days but I would avoid these big-eyed sneaky slitheries, who are not nearly as "shy" as the texts copy from each other and claim to be the case. When cornered they are truly dangeous and strike with lightning speed. My spade must have been struck at least twelve times just during one chop of the phone-nap fellow woken suddenly, and instantly fully blown up and mouth open to a vertical line and striking repeatedly.
A proving would be very interesting.
Namaste,

Re: Sicarius for Ebola?
Yes but from what I understand most won't and don't have access to that sort of treatment?
I am thinking more of prophylaxis and home treatment before people get to a hospital ... if there is one.
The skeptopaths are chortling over the fact that homeopaths aren't rushing over there to treat, fully missing the point that once the most useful remedies are known, its not homeopaths who are needed on the ground but remedies.
We don't need a cold chain or trained professionals, just water and/or pills and simple instructions on how to take them that can be passed on person to person. If we have the water, a handful of pills can be turned into inumerable remedies.

Re: Sicarius for Ebola?
Of course, prophylaxis is always best......an isotherapic would be good IMO, now the problem is to get hold of infected secretions and prepare it without being infected and being sure the preparation is not in itself a vector of infection.............

Re: Sicarius for Ebola?
Was a Sicarius remedy ever made?
A USA Patent US 6,998,389 B2 was awarded to a German
Inventor: Dirk Weickmann, Munich (DE)
for suggested drug made from venom of multiple species of the Scicariidae family to fight cancer tumors.
Maybe this venom drug, if it was ever produced, can be used to make a remedy??
"A pharmaceutical composition according to claim 3, in which the Sicarius spider species are selected from the group consisting of Sicarius oweni, Sicarius testaceus, Sicarius hahni, and Sicarius albospinosus, the Loxosceles spider species are selected from the group consisting Loxosceles rufescens, Loxosceles reclusa, and Loxosceles laeta, and the Scytodes spider species are selected from the group consisting of Scytodes thoracica, Scytodes rufa, and Scytodes longipes.
[0032] In this respect, it is preferred that the raw spider poison mixture is prepared from female spiders of the family of Sicariidae. This is advantageous because female spiders of the family of Sicariidae produce a higher amount of poison than male species.
[0033] It is further preferred that the raw spider poison mixture is obtained by manual milking. This is advantageous because the raw spider toxin mixture is obtained in a particularly careful manner.
[0034] Moreover, it is preferred in the method of the present invention to homogenize the raw spider poison mixture prior to fractionation, and it is further preferred to deep-freeze and further preferred to lyophilize the fractions prior to further processing.
[0035] The pharmaceutical compositions of the present invention are suitable for the use in medicine.
[0036] According to the present invention, the pharmaceutical compositions may be preferably used in the treatment of tumor diseases wherein a supportive treatment in the case of tumor operations is further preferred.
