Flu preventative
Re: Flu preventative
In my opinion vit D in matterial doses may render other problems also, so Influenzinum or Eupatorium perf in 200 C fortnightly during an epidemic and monthly when there is no outbreak is rather a best option.

Re: Flu preventative
Homeopathic prophylaxis is great but building ones immune system nutritionally is a concommittant.
Nutritional deficiencies need to be dealt with on a material level.

Definitely I would, especially if there were shared sx that were obvious and it was serious enough otherwise I would treat as individual cases. Without the sx you would be guessing from so so many rx that have the necessary affinity to 'Flu'. Joy
Re: Flu preventative
Nutritional deficiencies can be dealt by taking appropriate food not with drugs which can alter the status of body metabolism. Vit D induces un-necessary constipational conditions in certain constitutions which may lead to other complications.

Re: Flu preventative
We seem to have a different reality here. Given the status of the poor food quality and the fear that people have of being in the
sun coupled with lifestyles that keep people indoors most of the time; ie, work hours, it is not possible to get sufficient nutrition
from just food. Using supplements from natural sources becomes necessary to maintain a high level of health. The current
system heavily controlled through the FDA and USDA aims to mechanize all food, destroy all organic and raw food sources
and works to keep the public's health a the level of mere survival, constant illness and the forcing of people to submit to
toxic drugs for survival. Given the current state of health and food, it seems that taking food supplements to help build health is
a positive thing to do. Vit C, Vit D3 and Vit E are 3 critical nutrients that people just don't get enough of through food at all.

Have just been asked by a patient about flu prevention homeopathically as she doesn't want the flu jab. She is in her late 60's is very fit and the GP is pushing her. Needless to say her constitutional Rx appears to be Arsenicum which she has had fairly recently. I suppose Influenzum 200 monthly could be a possibility.
Personally I don't tend to do this but prefer to treat if it happens so I wondered what others do.

Re: Flu preventative
You should read up on the current (at least here in the US) situation re population-wide vitamin D levels. Look online for the "Vitamin D newsletter" by John Cannell; lots of studies, references, specific information.
While there are undoubtedly *some* people who need no added vitamin D (lifeguards?), population-wide the blood vitamin D levels are *extremely* low, and statics correlating this with various chronic diseases (e.g. asthma, autism, cancer) as well as acute ones, appear to be very solid.

Re: Flu preventative
In this case, tho, the appropriate food is *sunlight*, which presents many issues for many people. (Tho I agree, would seem better than supplementing.) But I would love to hear your specific observations--if causing constipation, I wonder whether increasing dietary (or supplementing) magnesium would counter that? (Magnesium being bowel stimulative, as well as complementary to calcium, and lacking in so many people's diets...?)
Curious!

Re: Flu preventative
I would also say that if you are prescribing the simillimum for your client now then that is, in a way, giving a prophylactic against any tendency towards developing any 'flu' like state - maybe you could explain it that way to her to show how homeopathic treatment for the individual will be able to cure either the fear of getting so called 'flu' or actually stop her from developing it.

Re: Flu preventative
Very right you are, sunlight is rich with Vit D and fulfils the need if available. I think less are those who can't get it.
Again Magnesium? for the constipation induced by Vit D is the way of allopathic, viz take this antiboitic and neutralize it with such and such vitamines. I think better is to avoid going that way. Natural ways and homeopathy is the best.
