No, that new Ramakrishnan remedy finally kicking in. Provides that, you know, spiritual all knowing experience without the lingering side effects, like believing one is a Shaman.

Have you tried tautopathy? ;}

"After being addicted to alcohol & other drugs for approximately 20yrs of
the period of my life between age 14 & 39, I've been on the (abstinent)
path toward cure for 13yrs, the last 8yrs of which have been pretty much
without benefit of 12step program or fellowship.
I'm extremely grateful to have had in my life the breadth of inner &
outer experience that considerable use of psychedelics,
psychoto-mimetics, narcotics,
-the full gamut of known (and some less-known) "recreational drugs"
..and of course, enough alcohol to have experienced quite a laundry list
of mental & emotional states commonly labelled derangements -
-has contributed, along with "the cure" .. a persistent interest &
practice in spiritual science."

dam, I gotta update that info .. 19yrs abstinent from drugs & alcohol now.

Shamanism is more of a beingness than a believing thing, though of course you are welcome to your beliefs.
Largely impossible to convey to "unbeliever" .. and not easy to "get" even when truly interested.

Your definition of shamanism doesn't match the common ones: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shamanism

Since you believe, or experienced, that you have shamanistic abilities or shamanistic experiences, how do you know they are valid belief and experiences and not just a drug imprint from prior psychedelic drug usage? And, whose imprints could be removed like those from vaccination?

The superiority you exude of having had these experiences then implying others who haven't are missing out on something grand are not the signs of shamanism. Being humbled is one, considerate another, compassion by experiencing one or more chronic illnesses even more. Not everyone can handle experiencing shamanism. My psychics are shamans too, though they hardly know what it means. Especially when they relate to me not to stop seeing Dr. Ramankrishnan. They are conveying info from the spirit world to me to aid healing. Not everyone can survive using psychedelic drugs, one cousin I have used LSD back in the day and has lived the rest of his life in a mental institution. Another person died. I know I've experienced some enlightmentment from certain constitutional homeopathic remedies in higher potencies, but that hasn't cured any illness nor paid any bills. I can also approach nirvana by lighting up Nag Champa incense or skipping some lithium doses but I don't see added benefits of exploring the higher states of consciousness through these means. It helps to become more self aware and less self involved.

Dear Joy
Your arguments amuse me. You sound just like the detractors of homeopathy!
"If a certain amount of time had passed it is very hard to say that the cat didn't survive through its own healing ability."
My cat showed an improvement within 10 minutes of having the remedy administered to him (in liquid form, with a syringe, into the side of his mouth.) I don't think that's down to his healing abilities alone, but rather, down to the remedy setting his healing abilities in motion once it had begun to detox the remedy from his system. And with cats that are not eating well, you have to respond very quickly. I don't think you should mess around with trying to find a simillimum. Tautopathy works - it may not be pure homeopathy, but it sure as hell works.
Liz
p.s. Do you not believe in vaccine antidoting either?

Certainly not a shaman-like reply! Though not unexpected when the new age mentality has to face today's reality as the facade crumbles. Now, for someone who is promoting their abstinence for 20 years, are you still advocating for the legalization of marijuana? Wouldn't that be contradictory, since pot use might lead to further drug abuse in addictive type individuals?

Hi Liz,

I hope your cat remains well ?
I can imagine you must've felt terrible, and felt an urgent need to DO something about it.

If you posted a reasonably complete symptom picture, I missed it ..
in retrospect, what do you suppose may've been a homeopathic remedy suited to resolving the symptoms ?

So many poisons have symptoms that are generally in-common from instance to instance.
-of course the homeopath would be seeking the distinctive .. what makes this a particular expression of generic flea-poison intoxication in this particular cat..

Regardless of what people "believe in" neither tautopathy nor concepts of "antidoting" possibly toxic biochemical inputs are homeopathy. The best "antidote" to an in-toxic-ation is a cure by homeopathy imho. Such a cure should easily leave the individual in a better state of health than before the poisoning.

If tautopathy (or isopathy) had worked AT ALL well in general, we would have quite a lot of the concept woven into our homeopathic literature, don't you think ?
But -on the contrary: from the many experiments of Hering we have only indications that isopathy rarely worked.
I don't know of any modern-day homeopaths with excellent skills developed in the Hahnemannian way of thought / practice .. who are advocating isopathy or tautopathy..
With the wealth of homeopathic MM which is proven ... I can't imagine a situation in which hoping that isopathy would work.

>Now, for someone who is promoting

Promoting? It's just a thing that is. It doesn't need or want "promotion"
some people might see it as a negative thing, but there it is.
"Advocating?" Not really... only if the subject comes up
and since it has:
Yes, of course. Allopathy doesn't work.
Stomping out germs doesn't work.
Making marijuana, or gambling, or prostitution "illegal"
-merely contributes to the existence of prison building as a "growth industry."
Illegality probably increases pot smoking; definitely it increases the pot smoker's exposure to "criminal elements" and whether or not pot may be considered by the ivory tower numbnutz as "a gateway drug" .. the powers that be have definitely made certain that your pot dealer will know a heroin dealer.
Historically, did "prohibition" of alcohol work ? Yeah, it worked great !
Lots of gangsters in snazzy suits, a HUGE BOOST for the FBI,
a whole new outfit of armed & dangerous Feds called the BATF
... and lots of Ma & Pa stills and parlor speakeasies.
Allopathy just doesn't work. What you resist grows.

You don't have the science to tell you what was going on and unfortunately I have to believe in the treatment of vaccinosis as having seen so much of it over the years and the damage that ensues that requires treatment. If a substance has been proved and we have a sx picture we have homeopathy and I'm all for it, although in reserve I am not sure we need any more rx. I work with sx and not theories. Joy

I quite agree, Dana. The pharmacies have had to agree to the selling of med pots with good grace but in the case of a newly produced remedy with all the costs fresh in the mind, it is asking a lot! In a profession where many (most?) do not make a lot of money those that do attract a lot of flack in spite of the fact that those same people are often the ones who contribute much. I don't use Ainsworths much but they do often stock small remedies, especially nosodes, that are not available elsewhere. There can't be much profit in these things when they are only asked for once every few years!
Having said that, I do use med pots myself (but have resisted machines) and I regularly criticise Sankaran for the proliferation of expensive and rather repetitive books! Very poor value for money in comparison with some others!
Of course we want to keep our charges down - my own practice has been largely amongst the less affluent section of the community and I like it that way. And we have inherited the (excellent) principle of not charging separately for remedies. Separating prescription from profit is essential if we are to have any credibility. I have considered keeping my prices down by the couple of quid the remedies (incl p&p) cost me and getting people to order direct from the pharmacy. But what happens then in an emergency if you have no remedies or if you have to keep represcribing between appointments? Most of my patients can pick up a remedy from me the same day - few could from a pharmacy.
It might help establish the true cost and value of remedies for patients, though, and help the pharmacies at the same time. With hundreds and hundreds of med pots in the cupboard I am hardly going to change now but wonder what others do/think.
I would also agree about Boiron's research and education record - Reckewegs do that, too, I believe and get little credit.
UK practitioners can get an Non Orthodox Practitioners Licence pretty cheaply and that enables them to use med pots for patients legally. They are not supposed to sell kits and packs on it, but many do. Something else I imagine the pharmacies get a bit fed up about when compliance with their own legal and professional obligations is so expensive.

Dear fellow appreciators of homeopathy...

First, separate from the issue on whether homeopathic doses of Swine
Flu will or will not be effective in preventing it are other legal and
ethical issues about dispensing it, as James desires, from a "medicating
potency."

It is interesting to note that James is upset that he cannot
purchase a medicating potency of the "Swine Flu" remedy from Ainsworth.
What will this remedy cost him? Probably around $15-$20 (10-13
pounds)...and then, he wants to be able to use this medicine to medicate
pellets for 10 or 20 or 100 or 200 patients? Personally, I would want ALL
of these people to be support homeopathic pharmacies...and local homeopaths.

I look forward to the day that those of us involved in homeopathy
will WANT our drug manufacturers to be successful...when they will actually
make reasonable profits so that they can use them to fund research and fund
educational programs.

I find it strange that Susan refers to Boiron as a "pseudo-pharma
company." They probably devote more money to homeopathic research than any
other company, and they support homeopathic organizations and various
educational programs. I certainly don't see significant financial support
for homeopathic research OR even for homeopathic organizations coming from
homeopaths.

As for legal issues, American homeopaths who use a "medicating
potency" to create separate bottles are committing a "federal felony" for
"manufacturing drugs without a drug manufacturing license." Doing so
creates potential problems for you...but even more important are the ethical
problems of not supporting homeopathic pharmacies.

We homeopaths are a strange lot. I sincerely hope that we can look
for ways to support homeopathic manufacturers, organizations, and
eduacational efforts rather than to condemn "profit-making." Because there
are NO (!) homeopathic manufacturers that are FLUSH with profit, condemning
the little profit that they make is a tad strange and is ultimately
counter-productive.

Finally, this weekend I attended a special memorial service to
MICHAEL QUINN, RPh, the founder of Hahnemann Labs. Hahnemann Labs'
medicines are much more expensive than other homeopathic pharmacies in the
US, and yet, I and many of the best homeopaths in the US buy a lot of
medicines from them because we want to support their efforts to create
quality medicines and to support their efforts to grow homeopathy. Let's
STOP always looking for the LOWEST prices for everything, and let's support
those companies and organizations that help to grow homeopathy...
