Help with my kitten please!

If I had a little kit who was running around as usual, playing
energetically, no symptoms except non-urgent diarrhea and off his food,
I'd just figure it was a mild bug, no worries. Also no symptoms (at
least in what's presented) to prescribe on. Is the situation any
different with a kitten--I mean mainly, is it more worrisome in a
kitten than in a child?

(My little bits of animal prescribing have all been done by using the
regular human books; the challenge comes in knowing what's *normal* for
the age and situation of that *species*, and then translating that into
human terms.)

Ah, for the diagnosis and disease information--good point! If one
doesn't know what one's treating, and what the expected course might
be, then it can be hard to evaluate progress (as well as may be harder
to accurately choose remedies.)

i don't think diarrhea in a kitten/cat is healthy. it could be from
a bug, or from something they ate, or something in the environment
that is somewhat toxic to them.

one of my books speaks of non-specific enteritis with loose and
stinky stools. several remedies suggested, included the gaertner
bowel nosode as a beginning. e-coli could also be a causative agent.

so while i would not get hysterical at this point, i would certainly pay
closer attention and begin to consider a treatment protocol.

Hi Shannon - Yes it is more worrisome as cat flu can and does kill
kittens. They die mostly from starvation or dehydration as a kitten
with a stuffy nose will not eat what they can not smell!
There's an excellent prevention remedy - URI 30C - which is very
worthwhhile to have on hand to nip infection in the bud - and/or to
use prophylactically.
