Thanks Roger, Intriguing mini-proving!
Just to note--clicking the link for Will takes you to a different site,
which is just a list of homeopathy resources. I tried to Google up
Will's new site, but no luck so far...

Re: bulimia
Hi Cinnabar, Beverly,
These rubrics cover the 'Anorexia state' nicely, and put me in mind of my case
(which responded to Stram.) Family hx of abuse (not personal to child), combined
with over-anxious mother force-feeding from babyhood, so food issues became a
'battleground' (a good metaphor for Stram.!) Felt 'abandoned' by mother, and
controlled by same (= asthma till teens and mother left home). Was beaten up at
school and dxd with PTSD, so now, when older, tries to exert some control, in any
way can do so. Stram. has helped enormously in ascending potencies.
Hope some use.

Re: bulimia
thanks, You are correct Theresa,
as often is the case this patient is not in any way overweight
the vomiting is also a punishment for having indulged in the offensive
sweets in case the weight goes on

Re: bulimia
Hi again Beverly,
There has just been a programme on Freeview about people who like being
anorexic, and see it as a 'lifestyle choice'. Well, apart from that, it was an
interesting viewpoint, as 9 times out of 10 there was a lot of self-disgust and
feelings of not being part of the world - the girl who also cut herself was most
definitely a Stramonium picture. I appreciate it is not Bulimia, but was insightful
nonetheless, as 'failure' and 'control issues' feature prominently (need to feel they
have a say in their own progression towards health, and not being told what to eat,
being the single most important factor).
The reasons varied as to why they started, and I'm sure this is the part that points
to what remedy picture might be the most fitting. For instance, I also had a lady
who had anorexia in her picture who turned around on Vanadium, but she was on
that success vs failure polarity/seesaw and had issues with her father and
perfectionism that fitted Vanadium. However, it did not hold, because it was only
part of the picture (even though well enough to stop taking her SSRI's for six
months) she slid backwards because the maintaining cause of unresolved anger
with her father didn't change. The only other bulimic I've treated has also done
well on Stram., but I'm afraid any purists might be concerned to hear that it was in
conjunction with Ayahuasca, and she felt immediate benefit from the combo as
she is a 'sensitive' who works in the 'bodywork' field, so I can trust her judgement.

(( Hi Beverly. Lots of brainstorming and a rubric collection here. No
conclusions. Hope helpful. Best, Andy
Here is a search of a few of the characteristics:
Fear [sen] danger [rem] sciatic/sciatica [2] left [rem] vesicle/vesicular
[rem] sweets [sen] desires: agar., agath-a., 2caust.8, kali-i.8, lach.8,
3Med.8, 2psor.8, 2puls.36, 3Rhus-t.8, samb., sep.8, stram., syph., thuj.8,
2tub.54
This is fear of danger in same rx as left sciatica in same rx as vesicle in
same rx as desires sweets. This may help narrow down some ideas which may
be confirmable by general sx (eg. Psor which has fear of poverty is chilly.)
If add eruption discharging fewer rx:
Fear [sen] danger [rem] sciatic/sciatica [2] left [rem] vesicle/vesicular
[rem] sweets [sen] desires [rem] eruption [sen] discharging: agar.,
2caust.8, kali-i.8, lach.8, med.8, psor.8, 2puls.36, 3Rhus-t.8, sep.8,
stram., syph., thuj.8, 2tub.54
other hand show rx that have the components of the case.

Composite rubric which may be helpful:

but may give clues)
--The fear element (eg terror of danger) with anger may also bring stram
into consideration.
-- saccharum album is a possibility because of great carbohydrate issue
