Re: bulimia

Post by ehc »

Hello all

would appreciate input for a case to confirm my thoughts or help me look in another direction please-
vesicles between thumb and fingers break out as soon as under stress
blisters open discharge fluid then open down into tissue which is bloody
great itching
burning sensation
skin worse hot showers- better feeling cool shower

tries to keep skin dry as it is moist when discharging fluid

cravings cake/carbs sweets

major exercise program to keep 'weight' off

long time feeling of being fat
is dangerous to be fat as father used to beat patient and only stopped if patient looked thin and sick

so makes self vomits if eats something bad i.e. cake/chocolate/icecream which is mostly what patient eats anyway

eats no brkfst to keep weight down then craves the carbs then blood sugar drops and has been hospitalised a number of times when to the point of vomiting blood
will not forgive the parent who has not apologised and who has long term 'dangerous' attitudes to others also so needs to protect own children from them also

fear of not surviing financially

mood swing from anger to depression

gains 2-3 kgs weight - says in legs i.e. fluid [thinks] in 2-3 days then up at night urination as fluid goes - says doesn;t know if that is psychological
expects self to be perfect

dreams has eaten and wakes in a panic in case has eaten and put on weight

nausea often

if stress gets pain abdomen left side - dull and then = nausea
will then either eat and not stop or not eat for hours til gets shaky/sweaty and vision goes black as if about to faint

feels angry [suppresssed] and then drained/weary straight after

pain left sciatic/lower back if not exercising - better lying down and warm applicaitons
thanks

Beverly

(( Hi Beverly. Lots of brainstorming and a rubric collection here. No
conclusions. Hope helpful. Best, Andy

Here is a search of a few of the characteristics:

Fear [sen] danger [rem] sciatic/sciatica [2] left [rem] vesicle/vesicular
[rem] sweets [sen] desires: agar., agath-a., 2caust.8, kali-i.8, lach.8,
3Med.8, 2psor.8, 2puls.36, 3Rhus-t.8, samb., sep.8, stram., syph., thuj.8,
2tub.54

This is fear of danger in same rx as left sciatica in same rx as vesicle in
same rx as desires sweets. This may help narrow down some ideas which may
be confirmable by general sx (eg. Psor which has fear of poverty is chilly.)

If add eruption discharging fewer rx:
Fear [sen] danger [rem] sciatic/sciatica [2] left [rem] vesicle/vesicular
[rem] sweets [sen] desires [rem] eruption [sen] discharging: agar.,
2caust.8, kali-i.8, lach.8, med.8, psor.8, 2puls.36, 3Rhus-t.8, sep.8,
stram., syph., thuj.8, 2tub.54

other hand show rx that have the components of the case.

Composite rubric which may be helpful:

into consideration.
-- saccharum album is a possibility because of great carbohydrate issue

i have dealt with bulemia on a couple of occasions. the emotional
aspect is paramount. of course, you will need to take into account
all the differentiating sx and modalities. once the guilt, self anger, etc
is mediated the desire/compulsion to purge will ameliorate.

eating disorders reflect very deep/intense emotional states and may
some time to change.

Dear Beverly, I think it is important that you rank these sx -
pertaining to what needs to be cured and then working downwards.

For example you might feel that 'delusion she is criticized' or 'desire
to please' are high ranking sx or you might think you can beyond that
even and address the submissiveness (yielding rubric) that 'allowed'
this to happen to her in the first place.

These are just examples and I am not suggesting these are the only
choices but if you give criteria to the sx this will make you rubric
choice easier.

You also need to take into account that something like mood swings can
be directly related to food refusal and it is even possible that
eruptions come from poor nutrition so although they could be important
guiding sx they are in fact not entirely usable, and this is why it is
so important to rank symptoms properly.

Best wishes, Joy

bulimia

Post by ehc »

thanks joy

the essence of the whole picture is the fear factor- everything else hinges
on that

- would like to see a rubric for i.e. delusion - fat or overwieght but can
only find delusions big. if something comes to mind would appreciate
hearing of it

thanks

Thanks Andy

your reply as usual is always full of thorough investigation - apprecite it-

in your investigative travels is there a rubric you have seen for i.e.
delusion - fat or overweight?

Am thinking very much of ign/carc/ars/staph as possible main players in the
case

thanks again
Beverly

Might "errors of identity" apply?
