Re: Cystitis

Post by Rochelle »

Thanks for this Joy but I will have to find out from her if she would could her pain "spasms". She did not phone tonight as she said she would so I have emailed her and invited her in for a consultation if she wishes on Friday. She said she was going to the doctor tomorrow to see if what she is experiencing could be a result of the operation. Personally because the op is so new here I reckon the doctor will just refer her to the specialist who did the op. We will see.

Latest message from my patient makes me think it is the result of the operation!! However from what she says it appears that the Staph has reduced the time the pain lasts unless it would have got less anyway as the time since the operation increased. Has anyone any more comments on this?
All the best
Rochelle (ISP is still playing up today- Joy has the same ISP)

Dear Marie

Thanks for the tip.
However, the only problem I see with the administration of the baking
soda/powder in liquid form through drinking it is that it will change the
conditions and it may kill the bacteria but it will not stop them coming
back and also you will not get the response of the patient to the remedy -
that is to say you will not know whether your remedy has worked or was it
the Baking soda.

So unless the patient is in Great discomfort, I would not advise it.

=====

Different bacteria need different conditions.

For example, the 'good' bacteria in the vagina need an acid condition to
survive and also this acid condition prevents harmful bacteria and other
micro organisms to grow there.

Dear List Members,

I would like to share with you an experience that might be useful to
others.

I do not have the permission of the client to disclose information. Here
are very general statements.
In a case of Cystitis, especially when there is rapid onset of symptoms, I
have found (Edgar Cayce) that the administration of 2 tsp (teaspoons) of
baking soda in 6 ounces of water will give relief rather quickly. Cayce has
said that no organism can grow in an alkaline environment. The baking soda
or Sodium Bicarbonate will make the urine alkaline. I understand that this
is not a cure. However, this will buy us time to find the right remedy for
this particular client. In this particular case E. Coli was involved, which
is a Gram Negative organism (Gram = a staining method). I don't know whether
all types of bacteria are affected by the Sod. Bi.

Thought I'd share this with you.

Marie.

Would be interested to know what anyone comes up with for this one. I have been treating this patient , at first regularly and now as needed for over 4 years. Her constitutional Rx is Lachesis and she had a dose of 50M in June. She has recently remarried but has known/been living with the guy for a few years. This problem started a couple of weeks ago when I was abroad so she went to her GP and is on her 3rd lot of antibiotics!!! Tests on the urine have revealed nothing.

The SRP is a "pulling back feeling like someone is sucking me back " in the urethra, It started with flu like symptoms and she is still very weak and wobbly. She was going shivery then hot. She walked up my drive very slowly , not like her (a young looking 45 yr old). Her legs feel tender and "it feels like I am all dropping". There is an urging to urinate and at the end she gets this SRP feeling. Very soon afterwards she gets an urge again. There is no burning; At the beginning there was a "smell like old people's urine" It is < when she is tired later in the day.
Concomitants - "I can smell vomit - like it is up my nose" Not there all the time. "metallic blood taste in mouth", "Incredibly aching legs.

Rochelle

Rochelle,
when you say 'tests on the urine have revealed nothing' - are you meaning that there is no evidence
of bacteria, fungus or other infecting agent?

If the answer is yes it makes one wonder about the antibiotics.

There are cases where there is no evidence of an infecting agent ---- eg., sometimes called
interstitial cystitis --- and there are of course other agents other than bacteria such as fungus
which can be found. Symptoms appear to be similar no matter whether evidence is there or not.

Thanks Robyn- I had forgotten about interstitial cystitis. I
remember a patient with that once a long time ago.

Anyhow the good nes is that the Sepia 30 Igave her sorted it out.
She took 2 doses. She is going back to work tomorrow.

Rochelle

Hi, Rochelle.

Sounds as if it might be viral... The lack of findings with the tests plus three unsuccessful courses of antibiotics would indicate that it's probably not a bacterial infection. In any case,...

Sars, Equisetum, and Echinacea, among others, could be involved in a differential diagnosis. However, since her constitutional remedy is Lachesis, it might make sense to look for a remedy complementary to Lach. You could look at Nit-ac, which has the overall picture and is complementary to Lach. A keynote of Nit-ac, of course, is the strong odor of the urine with which the situation started.

Some rubrics...

URETHRA - PHENOMENA - PAIN - urination - close of, at
NOSE - ODORS; imaginary and real - sickly
EXTREMITIES - WEAKNESS - Leg - walking, while
FEVER - SUCCESSION of stages - heat - followed by - chill

As you already know, that particular SRP sensation doesn't seem to show up anywhere -- darn! why does that seem to happen so often? It just goes to show how incomplete the repertories and literature are and how many more variations of human experience are possible, I suppose.

These are some thoughts.... It will be interesting to learn what remedy works, as one should.

Rosemary

Quite a number of rx has the 'pulling back' sensation. You would use
the 'drawing' rubric.

It kind of sounded like Terebinthina to me and with all those
antibiotics you can't now tell what has cured unfortunately.

Best, Joy

Dear Rosemary,
Did you receive the post that the Sepia I gave her did the trick? She took 2 doses of the 30C. She says she is going back to work tomorrow. I went for sepia because of the dragging down feeling she was going on about as well. I looked in the MM (Clarke) with her with me and decided that some of the Sx there could be said to be quite similar in the Urinary section.

Thanks Joy for your suggestions which I will keep in case it happens again.

Rochelle
