Carol - Whenever you are dealing with calcium deposits, I have found that the situation usually calls for one of the Calciums. Some months ago I started to feel pains over my left kidney area and some months after that, I began experiencing a fairly heavy layer of tartar or calculus on my teeth. It was because of the second thing that I took a dose of Calc Renalis which is a remedy made from a kidney stone. No more than 10 - 15 minutes after taking the remedy, the calculus began to soften, dissolve, and fall off of my teeth, leaving them feeling very smooth and clean. The next day, the pain over my kidney was gone as well. I believe in hindsight that I had a kidney stone forming or formed and that was what was causing the pain. Also, it is evident that I had a problem absorbing and/or properly using dietary calcium particularly since I was taking calcium supplements at the time. There are many more stories I could tell about the Calcs but I will leave it at this one.

Cactus has more of a heart tropism whereas Crataegus acts on the heart but also as an excellent plaque remover on the peripheral vessels.

Right on both of those, Hennie. When he first got back from his long
trip...the veins were kind of blue and sticking out..like in a cramp in his
calf. He had the doppler test and they said the results were the same as three
years ago, not better and not worse....even though the pain was worse this
time. I gave him huge amounts of k2 for two weeks and/or maybe it was the
arnica but the blueness disappeared. I don't know about the foot and the
malleous...I know that when this first started when he was working outside in
the winter fixing a window...he said his foot felt like it was freezing and
painful. His foot felt warm to me...so it was an internal feeling. I gave him
agaricus for one thing and started hm on the k2 and hawthorne tincture three
years ago and he took both intermittently . He wouldn't take the k2 or the
hawthorne unless I stuck it in his mouth. He had quit smoking for three months
three years ago...and got better...and he could walk 5 blocks after a while
without too much pain...whereas at first he could only walk about 30 feet and
have pain. I wouldn't let him take the stats three years ago or what I now
know what was the platal which is what apparently has now helped him. By the
way...we don't have drug insurance and the platal cost 250.00 for a months
supply. But we joined the Walgreen(drugstore) membership program for 20.00 for
a year and he got the platal for 22.00. What a bloody mark-up! He is
British...he could have flown to England and got the medicine for free. Of
course, flying for him is out unless he bends his legs up and down for six
hours.

Re: Claudication
Here's a list of remedies that have intermittent claudication (RefWorks):
Claudication (25): 3Prot., 2all-s., abcixi., acebut., agar., aorta, arte., calc., dipyri., gink., hir., ign., influ., insulin, lach., lat-m., merc., nat-m., oxpent., petr., plb., psor., quinh., sec., vena
If his pain is better from pressure, the remedy is unlikely to be Lachesis.
Peace,
Dale

My husband has constant pain in his right lower calf from on-going
claudication but which got worse from two trips in 10 days of nine hours long
each way. I tried arnica every day watered for a week with no change...30c.
Sometimes but not always the pain will move to the left side. I've thought of
lycopodium and lachesis. He just started a stat and platal a few days ago. It
is my last chance to try something. He is better with pressure...crossing the
leg that has the pain, very competitive and intense person, industrious,
addicted to political news and he is cutting down on his smoking. I'm not
asking for advice on what to take as I know that is not allowed. But I'm
wondering what dose I would give...6x or 6c or 30 or higher. I'm worried that
once he gets going on these meds I won't dare give him anything. I don't even
know why he is on the stat since his cholesterol isn't high. I think it is
calcium deposits from all the milk he drinks(for which I gave him vit k2
whenever I could get him to take it.) Any advice about potency?

Re: Claudication
Shannon - I will just give a few as I do not have much time. As a general rule, I have found that Calc Carb or even Calc Phos can do wonders for arthritis and related disease processes. I am sure that other Calcs would also do some good work but as everyone knows, the remedies have to be individualized to the person. I believe arthritis is a Calcium "process" disorder as I call it so, I believe that one of the Calcs is almost always called for in arthritis or any related disorder - in my opinion, of course. I had one case who despite a multitude of doctor visits and worthless pills could not find any relief for "Heberdeen's Nodes" which is an enlargement of the terminal joints of the fingers. It is an inherited, arthritis related disorder and so, in my opinion, needed a Calc. I advised this woman to take Calc Carb and her pains and finger deformities began to heal in just a few days. I have not seen her since her visit but I have heard through one of her relatives that she is doing very well especially considering that her doctors had told her that there is nothing anyone can do for her.
I had a woman with severe pain in one of her teeth to the point that her dentist had advised a root canal. The tooth had decayed to the point that the root had begun to be exposed. She was a heavy, plodding type so I advised Calc Carb as tooth decay is obviously a calcium process disorder. About a half hour later I gave her a dose of Merc Iodatus Ruber as well. Her pain was 90% gone in less than an hour. The result was that she did not get the root canal and to this day she claims that she has no more pain in that tooth. The same woman had the same situation with the same diagnosis by her dentist in another tooth on the other side of her mouth sometime after that - she is a candy and sweets junkie - and just a couple of doses of Calc Carb took care of that. She has not had any tooth complaints since then that she has told me of.
A boy of 6 with teeth erupting in every possible direction who claimed he got visits from his dead grandmother got a few doses of Calc Sil and in 2 weeks all the stubborn baby teeth that would not come out, fell out and his other teeth were coming in straight.
A woman's husband came to me and told me that his wife was scheduled to have all her teeth pulled because of a variety of problems. He told me that she was somewhat heavy so I advised him to try some Calc Carb with her. Several weeks later he told me that the dentist had decided to pull only one tooth and to "watch and wait" with the rest. I think that the dentist only pulled that one so as to save face as he probably had a bit of a problem explaining away his original diagnosis and plan. He probably could not believe that he could have been so wrong.
If I ever have any tenderness in any teeth for any reason, particularly when it appears that enamel might be thinning I use Calc Fluor 6x in cell salt form. I dissolve 10 or more tablets in my mouth and swish it all around all of my teeth for as long as I can maintain it. I do that for several days straight but usually after the first time, all or most of the tenderness is gone. I also do that with Calc Phos and sometimes Silica in cell salt form. Sometimes I make an alcohol and water solution from the cell salts and put it in a dropper bottle or other container and take 10 or 15 drops from it to swish around in the same manner. It works just as well. BTW, if anyone has any stubborn oral health problems, infections, periodontal disease, etc., learn about "oil pulling". You Tube has many videos on the subject.
Those are just a few examples. To reiterate, when it appears that there is a calcium process disorder as I refer to it, I am instantly looking for a Calc, even without repertorizing. Some people would criticize that but it always seems to work for me.
