Claudication

My husband has constant pain in his right lower calf from on-going
claudication but which got worse from two trips in 10 days of nine hours long
each way. I tried arnica every day watered for a week with no change...30c.
Sometimes but not always the pain will move to the left side. I've thought of
lycopodium and lachesis. He just started a stat and platal a few days ago. It
is my last chance to try something. He is better with pressure...crossing the
leg that has the pain, very competitive and intense person, industrious,
addicted to political news and he is cutting down on his smoking. I'm not
asking for advice on what to take as I know that is not allowed. But I'm
wondering what dose I would give...6x or 6c or 30 or higher. I'm worried that
once he gets going on these meds I won't dare give him anything. I don't even
know why he is on the stat since his cholesterol isn't high. I think it is
calcium deposits from all the milk he drinks(for which I gave him vit k2
whenever I could get him to take it.) Any advice about potency?

Did they tell you if the problems are more with his veins or with his arteries?

I don't know if it is the veins or arteries. He is seeing a vascular doctor in
two weeks. They are trying to see if the medications help him in the next two
weeks. His doctor is supposed to call me sometime today...I'll ask him.

What is "stat and platal"?

Does he have good pulses on the foot and at the back of the medial malleolus?

Third day of the Platal and his pain is pretty much gone which is pretty
amazing. It is his arteries that are affected. He has given up cigarettes for
the moment and therefore he doesn't drink his milk based coffee all day long
cause they went together. Now will have to do some experiments...as in did one
day of not smoking and drinking all that milk help him...or was it the platal
for three days. And will quitting the platal make a difference. I can't see it
as good that the docs suggest he take it for the rest of his life.

Neurologic: Intracranial or cerebral hemorrhage, cerebrovascular accident (CVA)

Respiratory: Pulmonary hemorrhage, interstitial pneumonia

Skin: Subcutaneous hemorrhage, pruritus, skin eruptions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome, skin drug eruption (dermatitis medicamentosa)

Vascular: Subacute thrombosis
Basically it inhibits plateletss aggregation and is a vasodilator....with a nice collection of potential side effects.
Better do the same safely with Hawthorne (I suggest the Gemmotherapic Crataegus, 15 drops/day) garlic, ginger and proper diet.

On googling, it looks like the drug works by dilating the arteries. I wonder whether cayenne capsules would help, since they also do that? I have a dim memory of butchers broom herb being used for something like that, maybe. Has he tried any herbal things?
