Re: Celiac, was triticum vulgare

I've had the same thought about the late 19th century Irish population which, as far as I know, ate mostly potatoes, with, for the more fortunate, occasional oats. Their state of health wasn't so great, but they survived, and some lived long productive lives. I have indeed wondered about the hidden ...

Re: Celiac, was triticum vulgare

Dear Leela. Very interesting. Thanks for the details. I figured that these people needed something other than white rice in order to sustain a minimum level of energy. The only difference between white rice and brown rice, I thought (I could be wrong), was that white rice had had the outer husk mill...

Re: tourette's/candida was EPIGENICS - Miasms?

Thanks, Piet. Fascinating articles. The linking of candida with the sycotic miasm raises an interesting question, I think. This, of course, makes a lot of sense. On the other hand, didn't someone in a previous post suggest with what seemed like impeccable logic that candida, acquired "almost in...

Re: Celiac, was triticum vulgare

They eat just rice with no pulses at all in their diet, and no vegetables of any kind? If they truly eat only rice with no other substance ever in their diets, then it's truly amazing that they survive and are able to work, without being constantly ill. I've treated a couple of Buddhist monks from e...

Re: Celiac, was triticum vulgare

I don't know about fermenting, but I agree that sprouting the grains seems to lower dramatically the gluten level, which makes sense, because the gluten is there to nourish the sprouting grain, which is, after all, a seed. :-)) Rosemary

Re: sunlight aggravates

Thanks, Joy, for integrating that little symptom snippet so elegantly into the Causticum picture :-)) And Rochelle, thanks for the update on this fascinating case. That poor woman! I hope she finds some relief. Rosemary

Re: Celiac, was triticum vulgare

Dear Dr R, Yes indeed -- fascinating food for thought :-)) -- and of course in line with our species' evolutionary history. So I wonder why, apparently, some ethnic groups have a stronger expression of this toxicity than others? I had, in fact, before I read your fascinating note, been thinking that...

sunlight aggravates

My memory is foggy here, so perhaps this will not be useful. Several weeks ago, someone posted a case where what seemed strange (to me) was the strength and severity of the person's aversion to and aggravion from sunlight. Of course this makes one think of a Natrum, which as I remember didn't resona...

Re: triticum vulgare

Thanks, Leela, for the additional info on Triticum. Interesting. It indeed doesn't seem to have a particular affinity for the small intestine, which is where the destruction of celiac disease/ syndrome occur. In many cases, celiac disease itself seems to have a hereditary character. It occurs much m...

Re: triticum vulgare

I agree, Gail. I thought the same thing about celiac and wondered whether this or a related remedy might be helpful, but the list of symptoms didn't seem to support that idea. It's a really interesting question. I also looked it up in EH, and came up pretty empty handed, so information on it isn't w...
