Rubbing feet

Post by Caro »

Hi guys,
My not-so-vague-anymore patient shared an rare symptom:
She says she has to strongly rub her feet agaist one another upon going to
sleep.
This she does until she falls asleep. She calls it "clashing" her feet,
which she feels compelled to do because she feels this "uneasiness" both
emotionally and physically.
On the physical level the same uneasiness is felt from her feet to her
groin, and she says there is a "sexual feeling" accompanying it. I'm most
interested in this "foot rubbing/clashing" symptom.
I haven't been able to find anything exact in my reps. Would you have it in
yours?
Thanks!
Caro.

Dear Caro, I think you have to ask your client more about this unusual
sx and rather than hope there is a rubric for everything if you enquire
further about it you will find a suitable rubric.

Medorrhinum, that has a high sexual drive, likes to rub any part of
their body hard, has very restless feet and cannot keep them still;
Platina has such painfully sensitive genitals that they might want to
experience the 'pleasure' from another part of the body; I think Zincum
has a similar sensation; and Stannum has 'scratching of distant parts
produces an intolerable sensation of pleasure producing orgasm' - the
rubric for this would be 'female, sexual, voluptuous sensation' which
sounds about right for what you have written, but I would also advise
you to enquire further. Hope useful, best wishes, Joy

Thanks, Joy
I know you're right.
That violent foot rubbing is so unusual anyway that if I come accross a
rubric that resembles it I'd feel closer to a right remedy... I've thought
of her as a possible Med., but this picture reflects more her past
synptomatology. I'll explore the voluptous sensation further, that could be
a great clue. In her case this seems pretty hidden. She hasn't had a
relationship in nine years, and I wonder if this has been a part of the
disease. Her sexuality has been in total stand-by since her last
relationship. So, if she has a strong sex drive that has been unexpressed
for years... Hm, I'm just ranting theories here. What a difficult case to
grasp. The picture of her case has changed resembling her old self more and
more, and emotionally she says to be even better than before the disease was
visible.
We still have the general swelling of face, underneath face, puffy swelling
around eyes and bloated, enlarged abdomen... plus noises in ear (ringing).
She suffers about her appearance, mostly because her family makes her feel
guilty about not looking beautiful and healthy. They put enormous pressure
on her to get on regular allopathic thyroid treatment. She says that she
seems to swell more when she has to meet them. I'll try to gather more info
( I could write a book on this patient alone already).
Zincum has come up quite often upon repertorizing, too.
Thanks a lot!
Caro
