OCD TREATiMENT IN HOMEOPATHY

Post by muthu kumar »

Paul-
As far as my remedy goes most of the time the remedy does not
change. I have never prescribed based on just obsessive symptoms
alone and for me the whole picture still points to the same remedy.
Hypnotherapy addresses most of the OCD symptoms and there is also
general improvement in mental health due to general " ego
strengthening" positive suggestions. But even then from a homeopathy
point of view the remedy does not drastically alter. Because for all
my psychology / psychiatry back ground I have never prescribed only
on mental symptoms or delusions or whatever... the time I usually
switch to homeopathy when the OCD related complaints ( presenting
complaints) generally are seen controlled by the patient that he/she
is willing to look further. It is never my decision alone since many
people do not want homeopathy follow-up.Some of them are already on
allopathic anti-depressants and still continue that...I have not
seen any marked improvement or lack of reaction following
hypnotherapy. When you look at it modern hypnotherapy is not
like "animal magnetism" - and we are all embedded in a suggestive
world bombarded with "hypnotic" suggestions of ads etc. So that does
not impact homeopathic medicinal action markedly...But hypnosis
definitely improves rapport...

experienced its use as a kind of "acute" intervention to change a
specific symptom (e.g. desire to smoke, food cravings, etc...), or
as in-depth sequential sessions where the person is taken deeply
into memories and feelings through an initial hypnosis at each
session, and the results are similar to psychotherapy, although over
weeks and months rather than years. In either case, the evolution
of the client's combined physical and emotional symptoms as
presented in homeopathic follow-ups should indicate whether and how
the remedy is working, it seems to me, based on the "direction of
cure," as in other situations. Sorry if I'm being obtuse. Rosemary
