Re: Thuja
Does anyone have any information on what type of person fits Thuja?
I've read it on MM but sometimes you have other things written.
thanks,
Colleen

Re: Thuja
In my experience, you don't come to Thuja as a remedy from the kind of person you are seeing before you. They almost always look, emotionally, like some other remedy because they are so well defended and so used to portraying perfectly the kind of person they think everyone else wants to see. Of course, deep inside, they're working from a terrible sense of fragility, but if you ever see this, it ultimately comes out unbidden after they begin to trust you more, or in a moment of crisis. The physicals are more likely to lead you to Thuja, and then you'll still be unsure of that choice for a while.
They can be very compartmentalized, but to the extent that no one realizes it. I had one terminally ill cancer patient who was helped to feel better by Thuja, but it took me a long time to realize -- only by deduction from small remarks that slipped out occasionally -- his degree of compartmentalization and therefore his resonance with Thuja. For a long time, I thought Lycopodium, then Phosphorus (Lycopodium helped and Phos didn't). After his death, when we attended his funeral, his friends and family met each other for the first time and we all realized that he had successfully kept each segment of his life totally separated from each other domain, so no one person -- even his partner -- knew anyone else from another scene in his life -- or even that these people existed. Over a hundred people were at his funeral, all making this discovery!! It was such a bizarre realization that someone could do that successfully, even through terminal illness. I don't remember who, but someone said something that I always remember (but don't always recognize) about Thuja: "No one can be a Phosphorus like a Thuja."

Re: Thuja
Reason I ask is my husband was put on Thuja just recently.
He's a very sick man. VietNam Vet with a host of problems.
Had RA and Causticum cleared that up but it took 5 years.
He still isn't right mentally or physically but now he's had to take
Thuja - very low dose. I looked up Thuja in the MM and it seems to
fit him to a tea...
He's been vaccinated 4 times due to the military and at birth.
His health problems go deep.
So what is it your saying about Phos? Thuja type could be a Phos?
Or they portray someone other than who they are?
thanks,
Colleen

Re: Thuja
It is really for homeopaths and is not cheap. I take it you are not a homeopath. Don't worry about a description of the Rx - just be pleased it is working on your husband.

Re: Thuja
Rosemary, I loved your description. I just started a patient on Thuja. She couldn't tell me anything helpful until I gave her a shiatsu and she described her self image that came to her during the session. She hates her body, so in everyday life she pretends that it is a different body. She lives in her head and her head floats off to the corner where the ceiling and wall meet. The things that she told me that rang true, did not look anything like the way she lives. For example, she likes to be alone, but she is the sponsor of all the parties. She is always ranting about the truth of her issues and the falseness of others, but she just wrote a "thriller literary novel" that will be published by Random House soon. She is very good at fiction. When I realized she was a Thuja, I was totally convinced. So I think it will help her.
There were some really nice thuja descriptions by J. Shore in the EH.
Blessings,
Ellen

Thuja
Yes, Rosemary's description is good
The shape shifting qualities of Thuja comes from the sensation that the
mind and soul is separated, they cannot connect the two and this is one
of the fundamental reasons why they feel 'fragile' and why they develop
'fixed ideas' (compartmentalised as Rosemary says), as a way to try and
settle and ground the separation but of course this doesn't work they
just move on further down the paradigm of the Thuja state. Another way
they try to join up the separation is to walk a round in circles -
never ending.
This profound separation of the mind and soul is likely to go in 2
directions - one being towards a mental dullness and the other is to
take on other personalities, often one of a manipulative nature -
sensation as if a strange person were at his side - and this is why you
don't always realise that they have taken on another personality
because it will ring quite true for a while. But they might well want
to choose a 'nice' personality as their alter ego, such as Phos or
Pulsatilla (which it is close to) because they are pretty disgusted
with their own state - sensation as if blood is dirty or poisoned. Very
much a tainted state to be in but with plenty of physical sx to
recognise quite easily.
Anyway, dear all, hope you are well and happy. I was asked a few weeks
ago to maybe offer some input regarding a case that had been presented
but I lost the post and don't know what the case was about so I
probably missed the boat on that one
Another time maybe.
Best wishes, Joy

Re: Thuja
Thanks, Joy. What a lovely elaboration on the internal states of Thuja!! Great to know you've been lurking
)
Rosemary (speaking for many others, assuredly...)

Not lurking, have not been here at all and have no idea about what's
been going on. Had a few ideas but the coming days will be spent in
sadness thinking of Julian. I was going to go out and see him later
this year, what regrets I didn't plan it sooner. The last thing I sent
him was a really funny Billy Connolly joke - I hope it made him laugh.
