Preparation

Chemical action
It is never found in the free state in nature.
Burns in air with a red flame.
Combines with chlorine, bromine, iodine, and carbonic, sulfuric,
salicylic and hydrocyanic acids to form water.
It forms numerous complex ions with ammonia and cyanide.
Most salts are highly soluble.
Oxides and hydroxides are heat stable, and insoluble in water.

the Homeopathic Recorder of 1930 vol. 45 pages 642-645 and found a very nice
discussion with Dr Arthur H. Grimmer.Many thanks for it.I did not know of it
before and therefore it was an additional bit of information on the Cadmiums
