Wisconsin girl survives rabies withoutvaccination; a first, doctors say

Post by Shannon Nelson »

Wonderful references, Andy! Two more from RefWks:

And also under Xanth, a reference to and IFH Conference with this remark by
Eric Sommerman: "Boenninghausen made some claims about treating bites from
rabid animals with 50M potencies repeated over and over for days, using
remedies such as Belladonna, Stramonium, and Hyoscyamus. I think he
alternated doses. But I'm not saying it's confirmed. I just saw it in one
of the books somewhere.
"Lawrence Galante: I was speaking with Dr. Banerjee from India. He
said rabies is relatively common in India because there are a lot of street
dogs. In every case of hi where rabies had taken effect, the patient had
died. And he has had quite a few cases. But in cases where the patients
had received allopathic vaccinations he was able to treat them
homeopathically, get them back to "normal," and then remove whatever
undesirable effect of the vaccination.
...
"In El Siglio Medico 1890, Dr. Fernandez Villa reports that a boy of age
8 had been bitten by a supposedly mad dog on Feb. 18;. The wound healed up,
but on July 7 the boy developed all the symptoms of rabies and on the 17th
was so violent that he had to be tied and had not tasted food for 72 hours.
As all remedies failed to produce any effect, the doctor, having read that
Agave americana was efficacious in such cases and having none of the
tincture at hand, gave the boy a piece of the plant, which he greedily ate;
it was given to him as long as he would take it. On the 25th his symptoms
had all abated. The source of this quote is Anschutz's New, Old, and
Forgotten Remedies."
