Marleen,
If its an older dog you might take a look at Conium Mac.

It's winter, here, too, but lately I found ticks on 2 of my cats. Might want to check closely!

Early morning i went for rhus tox, if im not mistaken rhus has the

paralysis, painless, lower libs
lameness
restlesness
good appetite
want for cold water
tottering gate
oder breath putrid
i did read up on alluminium Chris, its had good points so i will keep it in
mind

also the conium mac i will keep in nmind,

and yes its an older dog of 11+ heavy dog 110 pounds, in sickness does not
want to be touched, otherwise gentle
and loving for all

the situation improved a little, he needs soms lifting to help him turn his
legs under him and stand
he did manage this morning on his own in a few seconds, once he stands he
walks at end of garden, can urinate

so im still wondering if we are on the right track...
animals are difficult because one does not get answers...

Hoi Marleen,

Doesn't the dog have HD (Hip dysplasie - I do not know if I translate this
right)?
The things you mentioned I saw in my own dog (Gernam shepard).
If so you know anyway, where it comes from.
Let us know what happens.

In a similar situation I would ask a vet to do a physical exam and offer
thoughts. I think you need to have a remedy suited to whatever *process* is
taking place, whatever tissues or factors are involved. Are dogs really
prone to strained muscles??? Because if it's *not* that, then I'd think it
really important to know what the cause *is*--could it be tumor, toxicity,
brain or nerve problem, or ??? I have sometimes found medical *diagnosis*
very useful, even when I know I won't be following their treatment advice.

The owner did go to the vet today, its disk problems in his back, spondylose
if i spell that correct, the owner
opted for prednisolone because the situation degenerated so much, he was
like a fish on the ground in trying
to wriggle to get up, the lameness was much worse since yesterday morning,
ruta nor rhus and a dose of hypericum
did nothing im sorry to say (all spread over the 24 hours).

the dog gets 2 days now to see if he responce if not nothing else can be
done and authanasia will be performed.

Thanks for the help all

Hi Chris,

maybe you missed my previous mail but i did read op on alumina and
concidered it, there
were good matching points in the remedy, i only had low dose alumina 8X i
believe from a
previous cat i helped with bowel paralysis. but thought that was to low to
use and had already
gave owner rhus tox.
maybe we can use it later, well see, the dog can stand up again today so i
heard, from the
prednisole so we will evaluate again further down the road if he keeps
improving on the pred.

there is a homeopathic vet around here who says that homeopathy does not
work together
with the prednisole is that experiance some of you have also? i have no
experiance at all with
pred so i wonder about it, that vet says that even as long as 3 months after
taking pred there is no
use to give homeopathy as it makes that treatment nihil any thoughts
someone?

Dear Marleen,
We have a dog over here we're treating for something
similar Ankylosing Spondylitis; his lower vertebrae deteriorating. He is a
big old dog in Softeland (Norway),
but his owner rings me frequently for treatment advice (I am in London UK)
and we seem to be getting useful positive results. Some of the treatments I
have recommended are actually OT for this NG, (such as magnetic pulse
therapy much used in the UK for stimulating repair of damaged bones) but the
homoeopathic treatment seems to be having the most amount of positive
effects. It is Electronic Homoeopathy, which can be used together with
Classical Remedies. The dog seems much better for it.
This dog had pain especially at night when he would wake up in the night
and whimper
and wriggle. He now has peaceful nights' sleep. He also had bloodshot
eyes -they are now clear. He also had, of course, difficulty to use his hind
legs and this is now much improved,
he does not leap about like a young puppy, but he gets about OK now with
much less pain and trouble, so his quality of life is much improved, he can
now get up more easily.
The owner placed a piece of sheet metal (cooking foil) under the Dog's
sleeping blanket.
The dog did not need to touch the metal. This is connected by a wire to the
Electronic Homoeopathy Unit (battery powered, no line present), and takes
vibrations including those of the Pathology conditions into the Unit, where
they are converted into multiple potencies and transmitted back to the dog,
which then reacts as if he had taken a remedy; classical remedies can also
be applied to him this way without deterioration of the remedy, by placing
the remedy onto an input to the device. The remedy is not used up, but its
vibrations are applied with therapeutical effect.
I do not know whether the dog you are treating has the same condition,
but it seems similar to me, and at least here we are having very positive
results with a similar case,
so there seems to be some possibility of Hope, Regards, Tony
