online cases Veterinary help

Post by chrisywynthomas »

This is a brilliant idea in which a lot can be learnt. I'm glad you have decided to go ahead with it. I hope, however, I won't be upsetting the apple-cart too much by addressing any Homeopathic Vets we may have in the group? I have three dogs - 2 male and one female. The youngest of the male dogs, which is now three, a Spaniel-x, hates all male dogs and is very aggressive towards any male dog he meets. In fact we have to keep him muzzled when we take him out. He never used to be this way. He used to love playing with all dogs, but one day a dog attacked him when he was playing and, although he got the better of him, his attitude now is "I'm going to get you before you get me!"
Even with the muzzle on he will try and attack another male dog.

So any suggestions would be welcomed.

Thank you.

I thought of the rubric: Hatred of persons who had offended ( and the
subrubrics); but I think more especially of "unmoved by apologies: Nit-ac.
Think of trying a 200. Also consider the other remedies in these
rubrics.Kind regards, Ahmed N. Currim

Thanks pegmee,
From what I can remember of his behaviour, his body becomes rigid (still) when he is very close to the other male dog, then he gives three barks in quick succession as he lunges at the male dog and grabs its ear. He clamps his teeth on the dog's ear and just won't let go. I can't remember how he holds his tail.
When he is on the otherside of the road from a male dog, or a short distance away, he will try as hard as he can to pull towards him or get at him.
He would always attack another male dog, even if that male dog just wanted to play, and I think he would go for a male puppy as well.
Needless to say, there is no problems with female dogs.
This behaviour has only occurred since another dog, male, snapped at him. Before then, he loved playing with any dog.

Consider the remedy lyssin, made from the rabies nosode, read about it in
some materia medicas and see if you feel it fits. The below is taken from
Lotus Materia Medica by Murphy, but you can find information in most Materia
Medica on this remedy.
Causation: Ill effects of dog bites.
Inclination to be rude and abusive to bite and strike. Thoughts of something
terrible going to happen come into his mind against his will (to be attacked
or bitten by the other dog perhaps??). Anger, impatient, violent temper.
Rude, abusive, bites and strikes. Feels he cannot physically endure his
fears much longer (perhaps that is why he attacks the other dog, because he
is afraid). It is a thought... read and see what you think

when you say the other dog snapped at him, do you mean it actually bit him?

No, it didn't bite him. The dog was on a lead. Benji had gone running up to him to play. The other dog snapped at Benji. Would have bit him but the owners pulled him away in time. in that split second Benji's attitude changed. He clamped his teeth around the dog's ear and wouldn't let go - and given the chance that's what he would do to any male dog he should meet now.

give some generals about your dog, is it very thirsty or not at all, very hot
or chilly, etc., anything it loves or hates (other than male dogs) food wise
or in any way, what is it afraid of? anything really unique that is strong
and describes your dog is good to know.

Yes, he gets very thirsty and hot. He pants a lot when going for a walk. He isn't a fussy eater and likes anything. He loves to sit in my chair with me, and prefers me to take him for a walk rather than my husband. He will listen to me tell him what to do, but not my husband; in fact, he has growled at my husband but has never done that with me. The one and only thing I know him to hate is being locked out in the garden at any time, but especially when we have visitors. He just loves people and idolises children, but not everybody likes having a dog trying to jump on their lap and lick their faces - so, out in the garden he goes!
He fears nothing, except when me and my husband argue; he then disappears behind the settee. He doesn't mind thunder, lighning or fireworks.
Is there anything unique? He is headstrong and defiant. I use to take him to dog training classes. The Instructor spent half an hour trying to get him to sit instead of lie. So the Instructor got the other dogs to lie down AND ALL the dogs laid down. Benji went to lie down, but then saw all the other dogs lying down - and so he sat up, sraight and tall!
When he goes for walks, which is three times a day: first thing in the morning and last thing at night, we just take him around the local area, which normally takes about 15-20 minutes; and then when we come home from work we take him up the field, and that is usually a 40 to 45 minutes walk. He always has a drink when he comes in from walks, but our other two dogs don't bother. And when we get the really hot weather and he goes for a walk, nine times out of ten he will lie flat out in a puddle and drink what he can of the water. And when we get home, he will literally drink a bowl of cold water. Our other dogs will drink some water too but not the way he does. He pants a lot. We've had people a good way in front of us look behind because all they can hear is this panting and they wonder what it is!
Foodwise, they eat what we eat. They do eat dog food if I feel too ill to cook or I'm in a hurry. But normally it can be anything from fish mixed with rice and veg, to chicken mixed with pasta and veg, to liver and vegetable soup. And they actually get a cooked dinner with lamb and gravy on a Sunday. And in the mornings they are given two pieces of toast with butter and honey, or sometimes just one piece of buttered toast with a cooked yolk of one egg. Saturday is a fast day, but they do have a few dog biscuits throughout the day.
I hope this is of some help.
