. A modern homoeopath is
thus forced not only to study homoeopathy but he must also keep
abreast of the
side effects of modern drugs so that he can distinguish between the
real
symptoms and the drug induced ones. Not an easy task

I agree with this statement fully.,Once I had a patient with flu
like fever with body aches that occurred every Saturday morning.
She was originally diagnosed with Malaria and treated by another
allopath. No effect. She was then treated for urinary tract
infection, When she came to me after I came to know her history and
other factors I gave her Nat.mur. The following week she did not
have fever but the next week she had. In India in my region it is
customary for women to have head bath with soap nut powder etc, on
Fridays. I thought that this might be the reason. But the patient
said she did not have head bath for 2 weeks still the fever came on.
I asked her what she did differently on Saturday morning that she
did not do other days. After much hesitation she said she took a
tablet for leprosy. She was taking a tablet called Rifamycin for
leprosy. The funny thing about this is - when it is taken once a
week ( called Pulse therapy) it produces a flu-like syndrome in some
people but not if it is taken daily. And she probably never revealed
this medicine to the previous doctors as Leprosy carries a stigma
and patients rarely reveal this.
I asked her to contact her dermatologist about this. He vehemently
refused that this could be the reason and once again wanted to test
for UTI but later gave in after seeing that she had taken so many
antibiotics for UTI. This solved the whole problem. In these times
when everyone is taking so much medication- OTC and/or prescribed -
mixed symptomatology is the rule than the exception. ( It is
noteworthy that Nat.mur still was able to work and stop the fever
for a week before giving up).
