Hi Dave and others,

What would be a (brief) definition of homeopathy and what (briefly) are the
criteria for acceptable homeopathic practice?

How does the prescription of PC1 and an 'internet' proving (apparently
being done years after the remedy started being marketed) fit it in to this?
We have a combination here of distance prescribing and prescription of a
particular remedy based on an allopathic diagnosis AIDS). If it is being
prescribed by homeopaths on the ground they may indeed get to see the
patient but have no means of knowing anything about what the remedy is
before they prescribe or after: as far as I know only one person (+
pharmacy) does know that. Therefore in a real sense it is more distance
prescribing and less homeopathic than any of the methods that have been
mentioned recently on this list. For all we know it could be a combination
remedy, even.
To say Peter Chappell wrote an excellent book on Emotional Healing is a non
sequitur in this context, just as saying that he was
a founder member of the English Society of Homeopaths is a total non
sequitur in this context (and as far as I am aware he is no longer a member
of any professional organisation anyway). In mentioning those things I am
just pre-empting what is part of the normal response to comments on what he
doing with this particular remedy now.
I am not one of the thought police when it comes to homeopathy and
homeopathic methodologies so I really cannot understand how people who are
generally far more 'purist' (rigid?) than I just seem prepared to accept the
PC1 prescription. May be I am missing something in the original definitions
of homeopathy and ethical practice, which is why I would be genuinely
interested in the response of others on this list to my first two questions
as well as comments on the third. I do feel I must be missing something
somewhere.
You will observe that I am not criticising Peter or anyone on this list
personally and would appreciate if the compliment was returned!
