'taint homeopathy.
In homeopathy, the root is used in preparation of the homeopathic Rx
Phytolacca.
Permanent weight loss might be sought and acheived with the assistance
of homeopathy, in cases of morbid obesity, or where what was being
treated included the tendency toward poor choices in diet &/or other
self sabotage including couch-potato syndrome aggravated by TV-itis with
bon-bons.
No miracle diet pill in homeopathy.. it's a holistic healing art (whole
person)

Well... it ain't homeopathy in the same sense that Calendula (applied
locally) is not homeopathic.
BUT
It was first suggested by Edwin Hale (homeopath)
Tried by several people, with reports in the Homeopathic Recorder
and it was made by B&T a known homeopathic pharmacy.
So it's "homeopathicness" might be, uh, say.... 50%?
