Coke / Pepsi Etc
hi
These drinks have a high Phosphoric Acid content. They have low pH.
Drop a tooth in a bottle of Coke and it will be dissolved within 48 hours!
It is said to leach out phosphorous from our body too (bones).
So avoid it as much as possible.
Do not even discuss Diet versions - that is just sweet POISON!

Re: Coke / Pepsi Etc
I don't think Cola drinks are the best food choices available, but I do have
a story to tell about Coke's supposedly destructive qualities.
The idea about Coke being corrosive to many items of flesh and bone is an
old one. I remember a teacher I had when I was in grade 3--younger, with an
irreverent sense of humour and a pretty strong thirst for
knowledge...anyway, this teacher decided we should, as a class, experiment
on the popularly held belief about coke and its ability to dissolve things,
since so many kids were telling tales about the stuff.
He put cut up pieces of hot dog--meat, as it were--put them into a container
of coca cola, and left them to sit over a long weekend. When we all came
back to class after the holiday...voila...the hot dog pieces were intact.
Sugar in large quantities--the kind of quantity we find in cola--has an
antiseptic, preservative effect. Don't know if Coke will dissolve bone as
readily as some say it does (I'm sure there is ground up bone in hot dogs!)
but it did absolutely nothing to harm the hot dogs in our experiment.
Regards,
Nancy

Re: Coke / Pepsi Etc
I have always been quite defensive about diet advise, particularly as part
of a homeopathic consultation. But having just experienced a huge improvement
in the health of a patient of mine, I feel like I want to change my mind.
This young women was drinking about a 1l of diet coke a day. About half of her
symptoms (GI-stuff and mental health) were covered by a list of side-effects
of aspartame found on the internet. I sent her a printout of it, on which I
highlighted her symptoms, together with the homeopathic remedy. She certainly
did well on the remedy, but I am sure that her cutting down dramatically on
the Diet Coke (the removal of a maintaining cause, maybe?) was part of her
improvement.
kind regards,
Matthias

But the hot dogs were already dead, and now we see that even bacteria can't
live on the stuff!
))
Actually I find it of interest that "live" foods are the ones that will in
time go "bad" (spoil). Some say that if a food won't spoil, it's not worth
eating "fresh", either...

Re: Coke / Pepsi Etc
(With apologies if this is deemed off-topic)
Hi Nancy
It will certainly eat up a tooth. I did the experiment myself when I was a
kid.
The sugar (sweetener) is added cover up the sour taste of Phosphoric acid.
In fact phosphoric acid is used in dentistry for etching the inside of a
tooth cavity prior to using white filling. It is horribly sour and works
fast on the tooth.
One of the reasons why people like McD etc make a good profit out of it
(they add water to the concentrate on site) is that it aids digestion of
fatty food!
All the best

Re: Coke / Pepsi Etc
My doctor used to recommend flat coke for the kids if they diarrhoea/vomiting as a way of getting salts back in their bodies. I bet he didn't know about the Phos Ac. bit!! We were told to drop a sugar lump into the coke to get the gas out and then give it. It always stayed down when nothing else did.

Re: Coke / Pepsi Etc
Your doctor probably knew about using the flat coca cola as a medicine for
all kinds of kid's ailments. Lots of parents used to give flat soda pop as
a treatment for colic.
It's funny: coca cola was originally made out of quite a few medicinal
herbs, including pure vanilla bean and lavender...and the sugar content also
had its reasons (quite like some ayurvedic medicines which are meant to be
taken as cleanses). Italians have drunk Chinotto--a soft drink with
phosphoric acid, orange, a variety of herbs, plus Quinine (the name is a
combination of herbs, literally, "Chinino"...what we homeopaths know as
Hahnemann's first proving substance--plus 8 others) to ward off and treat
malaria.
Sprite was mentioned as a mild medicine earlier...interesting to note that
what we're so easily dismissing here were once so readily used as helpful,
healthful treatments.

Re: Coke / Pepsi Etc
Flat coke was also recommended by Cayce for... um, I think nausea or
something? Anyone know why carbonation per se is a problem?

I'd imagine it makes you burp and then that would encourage vomiting again on a sensitive stomach
