Ulcers which refuse to heal
Ulcers which refuse to heal
Since you have obviously all enjoyed discussing the child who won't sleep - how about another problem case . Now I look on this as an acute but maybe it is an acute of a chronic problem.
Another complicated case as per usual with mine but basically this girl has done well on Hepar 200 as far as her M & E's are concerned and possibly with the presenting complaint of PCO since the symptoms she was getting have decreased and her menses is returning at 1 every 2 months.
One of her symptoms was suppurating sores - every time she cut herself this would happen and after the first dose of Hepar she got cuts which did not suppurate. However 2 months down the line she got a sore on the back of her leg - she thinks after being waxed and this for the last 8 weeks has been a suppurating sore which won't heal. We have tried Hepar 200 again once, Gunpowder 9x (the only potency I had, Silica 30 which we thought was working as a scab formed but then didn't hold and now she has a cut on her foot and a papercut on her finger (this has cleared). The Ulcer as I call it has not got any deeper or extended the diameter. She now says that it keeps forming a blister underneath which pressure builds up and there is pus underneath so the blister bursts and pus which can now be bloody emerges. She said the centre where the pus is, is green in the middle. It feels swollen and when I saw it last looks swollen around the circumference.
The Homeopathic Helpline now suggests Gunpowder 30 bd together with Pyrogen 30 bd for 5 days . I have sent for the 30 in the Gunpowder as I don't have it and meanwhile have sent her some Merc 30 to try. M and E are fine (other than quite rightly she is fed up with this) but she says, on me asking if there is anything else going on, she has diarrhoea which is unusual for her and I think could be from the Silica she has taken.
I am not that keen to do the HH suggestion and was thinking of Carbo An low as I remember a lecturer at college who said she used it for fistulas and leg ulcers that wouldn't heal.
Other than commenting on all the rx I have tried does anyone have any suggestions how to heal this leg and foot sores. We have also tried Calendula/Echinacea/hypericum MT topically to keep it clean and i think that's why it hasn't got any deeper. I then decided to cut the Calendula in case it was trying to heal with the pus still underneath. The HH has told her to put an inch of Hypercal cream on with 2 drops of Tea Tree oil and I have just thought why haven't I suggested Manuka Honey!!!

Rochelle,
Are you sure this girl hasn't got a staph infection?
Peace,

Re: Ulcers which refuse to heal
The only way I am going to know that is to send her to the Doctor to be sent to the hospital for a blood test I presume.

Have you tried manuka honey directly on the sores and perhaps propolis
supplements orally for the patient?
FWIW

I really don't know why I had forgotten about Manuka honey!! However have a feeling she will be following the HH idea of Hypercal cream with tea tree although I personally don't think this will help when the tinctures haven't!!

I do have some in potency but wouldn't want to give it to her until the Staph had been confirmed.
