Depression and Eczema

Post by Sim Thiam Chye »

Dear list

I am looking for a rubic for eczema that appears when the person get depressed.
Is this the body's defense mechanism working? - pushing the disease out via the least important organ.

Hi
Can't give you a rubric this minute but can suggest you take a look at
Psorinum, Nat m and Anacardium and Hep - these were suggested by various
authors in EH as having depression and eczema at same time.

Austhors were Herscu - Nat m
Geukens Hep s
Roger Morrison and Sankaran for Psorinum
Allen for Anac

Will give more info if needed

Hello TC,
Is this a recurrent phenomenon or just once ?
If once, I will keep my hands off, since it is VERY COMMON in homeo
analysis to expect the vital force to express its suppressed
symptoms. Hahnemann's chronic diseases has many examples. Besides, I
had such an experience which was exfoilation all over body in small
patches after a particularly humiliating experience.

But the catch point is that after the skin throws off the symptoms,
mentally the pt must feel better. Or else the presenting totality is
to be treated with emphasis on causation.

If the phenomenon be recurrent, then I will underline causation thrice
and find the strongest one among 'ailments grief from' and start from
there. natm, ign, lach come to mind. But when the other generals come
into play, the case can be easily solved.
I will also look for any peculiarities of the skin sx but they will
have lesser impact on the final remedy.
All the best
Venkat

Hi Andy and Robyn

Thanks for the lead. I will check out the MM on the suggested remedies.

Other sx

- depressions from anticipation. - eg extra workload, going for a trip,
prospect of losing job
- Face wrinked -forehead
- Chest feels oppressed
- Stomach; eructations
- Memory, forgetful
- speech, slow
- tearful, when relating
- keep calm front, hide conditions from others

When asked about recurring dreams, he mention briefly about feeling
floating..the only Rx I found for this is Hell.
I am sorry if the case seems in complete as I wasn't taking the case
specifically , just chatting as a friend to him.

Hi Venkat

the main complaint is depression, and the eczema eruptions is recurrent
whenever my friend falls into depression.
He has been on Prozac and another drug for more than 10 years. Another key
recurring Sx during depression is his concerns for his spiritual state - why
is God so far from him? is he truly saved, etc.
I mentioned some other symptoms in my earlier reply.

be well
TC

Hi TC,

Is Lyc a possibility? It jumped to mind from your synopsis (elsewhere), and
I notice it is also a (2) in MIND; ANXIETY; salvation, about: aq-mar., Ars.,
ars-s-f., aur., aur-ar., aur-s., bani-c., calc., calc-ar., calc-s., camph.,
cann-i., carbn-s., chel., coloc., graph., hura, ign., kali-p., Lach.,

Dear TC,
This has to be looked at as melancholia. Dr Krishnamurthy has given a
few cases which he solved with the help of Lilienthal's therapeutics.

Look at verat alb. Lilienthal gives it as with religious melancholy,
with reproaches of conscience, weeping, aprehension of misfortune,
and taciturnity etc.
Just a thought

Dear TC,

In short, you might take a close look at Hura bras.(especially), Baryta carb or Bar-s or a baryta, the cuprums, nat-m, gels, and psor. But reps are laid out here for hopefully a help for your study of the case...
