Dear Group
To all the nice people who answered my query a while back regarding
homeopathy schools -
You may remember that I had concerns due to having been told (and shown)
that British Institute of Homeopathy USA was somewhat religious / new-age in
its orientation. I have been informed by contacts that BIH USA is now no
longer linked to the rest of the British Institute of Homeopathy but has
become a separate legal and professional entity.
I thought I would mention this for the record. As my concerns were to do
with what I had been told about the USA part of the school, I am very
pleased to hear that they are no longer linked to the original school, which
many people have vouched for as having a good reputation.
Warmly,
Anna

Hi Anna,
This is puzzling... *No one* who replied to your earlier inquiries had any
idea what you might be referring to; *no one* had experienced religious
pressures or untoward religious content; and several of those who replied
are indeed affiliated with BIH USA. I really think that your informant (who
told you they have a religious orientation) is mistaken. But if it *is*
true, then it's certainly something that many of us would want to be aware
of. Can you give any sources, any more information? Is this stated in any
of their literature? (And if not, how would they attract the people who
might want such a school?)
What reason was given to you concerning the split by USA BIH, and who told
you?
I hope you'll answer my questions as fully as you can, since you're making
some significant charges. I believe these need to be either substantiated
or corrected, both for BIH's credibility and for your own credibility.
Best wishes,
Shannon

Hi,
I have tried Staph 6x to prevent being bitten by Mozzies and/or sandflies,
and it works reasonably well. I have also tried it for friwnds and family
and it seems to be successful in about 60 % of people.
Mosquitoes and sandflies are a real problem here around dusk at this time of
year and if I have to be outside at that time I usually take soem Staph 6x
beforehand.

Thanks to everyone re suggestions for the mozzies
However, Jon, your response is what I was after - some experience with the
remedy as prophylactic
I saw it in the rep under Abel m and Staph and just wondered how it got
there

PS, but it occurs to me, maybe I'm protesting inappropriately. If you're
only asserting that it is "somewhat religious / new-age in its orientation",
well, that is true of a large portion of the alternative health community,
certainly here in the US, and I would assume it's not uncommon in other
places either. Hahnemann and many/most of "the old guys" certainly had
definite religious/philosophical views and interests, maybe "the New Age of
their day", in a certain way. (Swedenborg? How mainstream is/was that???)
But that is the orientation of (many of the) *people*, and is *not* (so far
as I've ever heard) what is being taught in the classes.
Are you concerned about quality and content of the homeopathic teaching, or
rather about your (potential) fellow students' philosophical leanings being
incompatible with your own, or disagreeable to you?

I would suggest that you write directly to Maria Bohle at .
Maria became the BIH coordinator for the USA a few years ago, and has

I know Maria quite well, and I would trust her implicitly. I know
that she is working with Karen Allen to add case studies into the
program. Karen is doing work with the Council for Homeopathic
Certification and has been very involved in setting standards for
that organization.
I know that Trevor Cook has been talking about retiring for quite a
while, so maybe what you heard has to do with that.
Talk to Maria directly about your concerns.
I know that when you first posted and mentioned the "religiosity" of
the BIH USA thing, it sounded weird to me, and I asked Maria and she
said that there was no backing to that claim. I believe a few people
answered it at the time.

Subject: Boger repertory question
Hi Group,
To those especially in the know of the evolution of
Boger's repertory.
In a conversation which was published as an article Dr
Roberts among others refer to the Synoptic Key as the
Boger's repertory.This was in the 30 s. Roberts also
speaks of talking to Boger himself about too much
generalisation etc. During the conversation Roberts
mentions that he uses the Boenninghaussen rep the most
and that it is the most perfect and foolproof.
But Boger was all along updating his larger Rep, "
Boger- Boenninghaussen char. and Repertory" . My
question is whether Roberts ever referred to the
larger rep and whether it was available to the
profession at the time.
One more question is whether the Indian print is the
only first edition made of the Boger's rep. (Despite
The brilliance of the arrangement, it had to remain in
relative obscurity till the likes of Phatak, Bhanu
desai and recently Hans Weitbrecht started using it
earnestly.)
Will someone shed some light ?
Regards
Venkat

Dear Anna and friends,
First I shall assure you and everyone else that BIH USA is still
affiliated with BIH LTD. So obviously Anna's sources are mistaken, but
it is also obvious that Anna has not been receiving accurate information
from the beginning of her inquiries about our school.
BIH USA handles the United States and its territories, and that
is one of the only differences from our parent/sister company BIH Ltd.
We have the same courses, the same copyrights, and an excellent
reputation in the homeopathic field.
Sincerely,
Maria T. Bohle, Director
BIH USA

Hi Robyn,
I found out about the use of Staphisagria against mosquitoes from
Vermeulen's Prisma. On page 1270/1 he quotes Trexler who reports
effectivity of Staph 3x in deterring insects.
As I always get bitten, especially by sandflies, I decided to give it a try
and it worked well in 6x, the lowest potency I had available.
I must say though that Staphisagria seems to cover a lot of other symptoms
for me as well and probably 'resonates' well with me.

I cannot find where to send this so I am sending it to the list. Why have I
suddenly and without requesting it, started to receive e-mails from Minutus
in digest form? I want to receive e-mails in individual form. I hope that
whoever takes care of this kind of thing will notice this and take care of
it or, if anyone knows how I can make the change, please let me know.
Thanks.
