Annie's trip

Post by Shannon Nelson »

Hi Annie,

There must be French lists similar to this one -- have you gotten on any, or
gotten any ideas? There must be a homeopathic professional organizations in
France; have you tried that angle?

yes, I have tried that angle, sadly the only list I can find only
allows Doctors onto it, they can be a bit like that over there! Mind
you I have got a good email today so am more cheered up! Provence here
I come!

I have another problem, occasionally when i want to put a request for
an address on the Minitus noticeboard site it is sent back to me and I
am told that it does not exist, and I have twice asked for a daily
digest only and this has not happened, I am new to all this and
wondering what I am doing wrong!?

Dear Annie,
I assume you have contacted the Ullmans in Seattle (Judyth and Robert? They would be a requisite stop on your journey, having written books that am sure you have read... And--they should know a network of students and pracs who specialize in ADD type stuff. Paul Herscu and Amy Rothenberg also are "must" people to contact (at New England School of Homeopathy) since they treat a lot of kids (and wrote a book on treating Autism) and also run a school, which means they could most likely hook you up with rounds to do of other practices.

Seattle Washington is Northwest of course and also has a college (Bastyr Naturopathic) which has a low cost clinic--might be able to get observation priveledges there to watch students and supervisors take ADD etc type cases, which get a lot of (although Ullmans are the experts and would stick with experts as much as possible). Also-- two other very good pracs in Seattle--Steven King and Sheryl Kipnis ND. And Melanie Grimes is also up there and she may be a great contact to help you set this up (my guess). Seems to me that ideal is a pediatrics practice so you dont waste any
time (eg most pts kids). That is why Ullmans and herscu/rothenberg might be good....
Amherst Massachusetts/Enfield Connecticut is near the east coast
So there are two endpoints (and great parts of the US to live in for a while and see the sights of and get to know some people in).

In between, you might contact Eric Sommerman and Val Ohanian In Minnesota (Northwestern school of Homeopathy). Good people and practitioners.

Or just work the two coasts so only one plane flight is needed. Both Seattle and the NESH hubs could provide enough satellite practices to work in. Or Minnesota and one of the others.
So there are three target areas, there are more, but those are ones that might pan out. But all you really need are pracs in an area who really like the idea of you coming (and maybe there is some service you can provide for them during the rounds you make). My guess is that the Ullmans would be your first choice (and you wouldnt go wrong if you ended up in seattle, cause quite a few other experienced pracs there you could hook up with as well as the Ullmans (whom are BTW very nice people --Judyth is a licensed social worker as well as an ND)

All the contact info for the above folk can be located by looking on practitioner directories via internet (try NASH directory, Waldsteins' Directory, or search the NCH prac database).

Hope this is helpful and that you end up having a great trip. IN your planning, always consider plan "B"s--ie have more options set up than you plan to use ( for backup.)

Best,
Andy

I noticed that in your recent post that did not go thru, you had typed
"Minitus" instead of "Minutus"! Dang, those picky computers, LOL!

For more French ideas (how odd and sad that there isn't an open list!),
maybe you could resort to phone some pharmacies and asking if they can
recommend practitioners, then mailing or phone those practitioners... And
each you talk with, ask for other recommendations??? Or can you locate a
school of homeopathy in France, that might be another source of suggestions?
Wow, sounds like trying to break into another world!

:-)

you are right, it is like trying to break into another world, but I
think I'm now almost in! One contact put me in touch with others and so
I'm going from there, now almost full and all very welcoming. the
results will be most interesting won't they!!!
