Re: Stubborn cough

Post by Rhonda Bird »

Any clues for a really stubborn cough in a child- temperature, flushed
cheeks, throws the covers off, really thirsty, yellow phlegm, changing to
clear now. Hasn't responded greatly to remedies tried so far, although
phlegm changed from green to yellow 2 days ago. The temperature is since
yesterday, and he is listless, runny stools, and without sweat.
His mum is bringing him later today, so will be able to get more symptoms
then(and am not prescribing until then - just would like any suggestions
please). Cough sounds really chesty, hollow almost. No obvious causation.
Sister also has this cough, although less severe - she is 2 years older, and
has a history of this type of cough on change of season. Doesn't appear
distressed during cough - it is markedly in the morning only.

Thanks in advance,

Rhonda

Some coughs are very hard. I had a little boy yesterday who was not
responding to belladonna for acute otitis media. His Mum said he was very
sleepy flushed and hot and had got very upset earlier by younger sister and
friend not playing with him.

He responded very well to Hyocyamus. My granddaughter i2 months had a

Stramonium as she recently started day care. Kali Mur 3x may help mucous?/

Stubborn cough

Post by APEX PRECITECH »

Dear Rhonda,
A few ideas
The cough, deep + generals, covers does not want to
may throw up a few remedies. Then match the other sx
to zero in. Perspiration without is another good one.

But I will also expect some aggs and amels - local,
pertaining to the cough( like open air, drinking,
exertion, study, admonition, crying, strangers,etc
plus accompanying respiration) and general and see
where they connect. If you have a Boger's rep copy ,
just will do great for this case.
cough,deep-early morning( awaking on)-agg & amel+
concomittants
1.Thirst
2.Covers no desire for
3.Listless
4.Diarrhea
5.Face, red
6.Expectoration-yellow
will throw just a handful which you can individualize.

Best,
Venkat

Hi,
Since her elder sister also has the cough, you may
start with a few doses of bac, warning the mother
not to meddle /suppress the temperature which may shoot
up only to come down the next morning.

Also you may like to watch the child in the morning when it is
worst and try to see if some more clear modalities can be
found.
with best wishes,
V.T.Yekkirala.

Always ask about vaccinations when these chronic conditions exist in
children - antidoting MMR with the homeopathic vaccination will often work
quite quickly. I always ask two questions, when was the child vaccinated,
and when did the cough start. Often doctors will have told the parents that
the vaccination is not the cause, so they have discounted it. But then, when
the MMR in homeopathic potency deals with the cough (et el) it QED really. I
often then find following up with a constitutional remedy helpful.
