Women in nunneries do menstruate (some even get pregnant when they have
illicit liaisons), as do women in prisons.

HOWEVER, women in concentration camps do not menstruate, usually because
there is not enough food.
The VF realises that for the woman to be successfully pregnant needs to have
access to food. If you restrict food, then menstruation will stop.

I had a patient who had gone on to some crazy diet (carrots, cucumbers and
tomatoes ONLY for months) and for obvious reason her periods stopped.

It was only when we managed to treat her homoeopathically and make her see
sense and eat reasonably that her periods started after some three months.
