Again... it is abvout making claims.
PRODUCTS found to be fraudulent. I do not think that individually
prescribed homeopathic remedies are under suspicion-- because you
can't make a claim for a single remedy.

Well, my main concern is someone OUTSIDE deciding what is bogus.

People have to take responsibility for what they choose in most cases
They have to research the quality of a product, the practitioner and the
system.
I would rather have freedom of choice than regulation in most cases,
especially when the judging body is antipathic toward the system being judged.

Maybe you're right about this Julian, but I have noticed an alarming amount
of anti-complementary medicine publications lately.

I subscribe to a weekly collection of articles and studies from Medscape.
This week's title feature was called "Naturopathy?" When I checked out
their review, it was pretty clear their intent was to dismiss naturopathy as
"dangerous", and to denounce all those who opt for naturopathic treatment
and benefit from it as "deluded" by its claims.

Oh, and yes, they did lump homeopathy in there with their definition of
naturopathy. The article assumes people who practice the various modalities
used in naturopathy are equal in lack of training and ability.

The timing seems more than coincidental.

History repeats itself. Whenever an alternative modality has started to
gain a genuine foothold, the amount and ferocity of opposition increases.
Rather than worrying about this, the best course, it seems to me, is to stay
true to the ethics (e.g. not "making claims") and accepted ("classical")
practice of homeopathy, and make sure there's no reason for organized
opposition. Also, the more the public knows what homeopathy is and isn't,
the better off we will all be. There's a lot of confusion out there, with
anything vaguely alternative often called "homeopathic" (in the US at
least).

thank you Nancy.. this was my point in responding to sherri's concerns about british articles
about bogus treatements. i think the progressive position is to remain firm and clear and
become apologists. have you, or others, read about the white house wanting to control all
information to the public about health dangers? the omb want to claim control over all peer
review reports and decide which ones are to be released or used. by controlling information,
this is another step in the direction of the demise of our freedom to chose what kind of lives
we want to live and what kind of health care we chose to accomplish this.
