Re; RADAR in India

Post by Gregory Pais, ND »

Hi Shannon,

You pose several questions that others probably have as well. And there may
be others that don't quite understand the problem in its entirety.

The basic situation was that one person/company was purchasing a product
(RADAR software) in a foreign country (India) and attempting to sell it to
the US. There are many problems with this process right from the start.
First, software prices are different in India. Archibel, the parent company
that actually produces the software, has priced the product so that the over
150,000 Indian homeopaths might be able to buy it. (And yes, airlines, cars,
and other industries follow such practices). In a country where an office
visit to Dr. Farokh Master (one of the most effective practitioners) costs
$12/year, it would be restrictive to charge Western pricing where office
visits are 10-20 x more. Instead, Archibel's Indian pricing, through its
sole Indian/Asian distributor, B. Jain, has supported and promoted
homeopathy in India/Asia. The best level of customer service and technical
support that B. Jain can provide relates to their return on sales.

To buy RADAR in India and then offer it to someone in the US really does
everyone a disservice as pointed out before. First, the American homeopath
who buys the software at the Indian price has a program that they can never
upgrade. All residents of a region must purchase RADAR from their local
distributor. For North America that is WholeHealthNow. If this homeopath
wants to use the Complete Repertory, or one of the other 19 repertories
available with our soon-to-be-released RADAR 9, they are out of luck. And
probably very unhappy. If they have a question, a software need, want
another module of the program or another group of books, they have no way to
obtain these items. The Indian seller can do nothing about this. As they are
in India they cannot provide customer service or technical support after the
sale.

It takes money, and a huge commitment of human resources to provide the
level of customer service and technical support that WholeHealthNow provides
for its North American owners. Free tutorial CDs, free teleconference calls,
free technical support, video tape trainings, low cost trainings--all
innovations in the homeopathic software industry--take an incredible amount
of infrastructure to provide. This infrastructure accounts for a large part
of the price difference between the US and India.
