I'm wondering if I could get the group's thoughts on the following
situation. I have recently seen a very nervous young woman with severe
obsessive compulsive disorder and cripping panic attacks. She is scared of
everything, but most especially of choking and being poisoned. She is a
classic arsenicum case. I labeled her remedy "AR", sure she would panic if
she knew what I was giving her. Just received a phone call saying that she
won't take the remedy until I call telling her exactly what it is, and what
it will do. Not sure how to proceed. Her central delusion is making it very
difficult to treat her. Any suggestions?

Re: patient frightened of remedy
yes, difficult. i once worked with a person whose rx was arsenicum and had the same reaction from her.
and this was a 'friend' who i thought trusted me. despite a long discussion that occurred on this list
some time ago, i would try to get her to place some 'blind' trust in you. i might focus on her trusting the
homeopathic process and try to get her to accept the idea that knowing the name of the rx often biases
people and, thus, their reactions. if that line of reasoning doesnt work, i might make up a name of the
remedy if that is all that will work. the alternative might be that she wont be treated and you need to let it go
until she is ready to place some trust in you/the process
good luck
