Stroke

I feel like I'm forgetting something I really ought to remember...
Is there a general rubric for stroke / blood clot in the brain?
I have a dim memory that both Arnica and kali-m have been used that way, but
can't remember references for either! Can anyone give me a jump-start?

Thanks,
Shannon

Thankyou!!!
My dim memory is that a stroke can be caused either by a clot or by a leak
-- is that right do you know, and would that rubric apply to either one? (I
suppose the old guys woulnd't have had a way to differentiate what had
happened, or would they?)

Thanks again!

Dear Shannon,
Is 'what did the clot do to the person' not more
important than the clot itself? As recently discussed,
the stroke as a term would be dead without explaining
what happened. I mean the modality and the
concommittants.

But as one of the old men Clarke, said in the
prescriber- I approach now with the name of disease.
Boenninghausen does by signs and symptoms. In my
method you can zero in on a group of remedies
previously used. I have given some other outstanding
symptoms that differentiate the remedy.

Lilienthal has also done this way. But, as I slowly
learn Boger- boenn's method, I start to see what
immense potential is there to strike the similimum at
the first instance just with signs and symptoms.
Was there a need for those old guys to know what
happened inside ?

Regards
Venkat

Hi Venkat,

I completely agree with you!
I asked this partly because I was annoyed not to remember the rubric :-)
, but also when I know a "specific" rubric I usually look at it for
possibilities, tho I don't use that as the main criterion. (One couldn't
anyway, as there are so many remedies listed, but I mean I understand that
the possible choices are certainly not *limited* to those in the specific
rubric.)

Thanks!

Hi all,
Have you actually treated a pt after stroke?

I'm seeing a pt almost 3 years after a cerebral
hemorrhage and she was prescribed her remedy basis
symptoms only. It happens to be her const. rem. as
well. CAUSTICUM.

I wonder though if arnica (head injury) or bothrops
(left side hemorrhage, right side affected) wouldn't
also be indicated (even thought there's slow and
slight improvement-but it would be such without ANY
treatment).
I am lost here. She got caust 15c on 7/16 and caust
30c on 9/16 but all her symptoms remained.
Any ideas???
Anna

Hi Anna,

Did you give only one dose of caust 15 and one of caust 30, or did you
repeat during that time? Have you tried repeated water doses, or LMs, maybe
that would be deeper? (I have no experience with this, just my thought...)

Hello Shannon
Thanks for replying -esp that I'm really at a loss
here.
Yes, it was just one dose each, no repeating.
Causticum looked quite well, showed up in all main
rubrics - AND it acts: she has short-lived fevers,
mists before the eyes, even twice week-long itchy
rash.
It all disappears but the symptoms stay.
I also do not have much experience with water doses
(only twice with arnica-acutes, they are SO different)
or Q-potencies but maybe this is a way - not
additional remedies-as caust is ok just I wish it did
its work.
