Digest Number 122 - Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome5

Post by Barbara * »

Hi Suriya,

From what I've gleaned, this seems to be on the increase due to the
widespread use of the Pill for two generations, and from the environment
(toxicity in the sea = toxicity in recycling water, etc., etc. - the
'hormones' are not destroyed and are also affecting male fertility. Also
the past use of steriods in a patient's hx, but I'm sure someone like Sheri
Nakken would have the full research on this tho'), but see excerpt below.

Like you, I have found tx resistant to some of the more persistant
side-effects (hirsutism, or just facial hair growth particularly), but I
have not tried actual pituitary gland as yet - have you? I would be
interested to know what you have tried (all the hormonal remedies no doubt),
and maybe we could all make a database?

regards, Barbara

Corticosteroids are currently being used on a large scale in medicine, both
internally and externally, in the treatment of allergic reactions, various
skin diseases, rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory diseases by
limiting their spread. The number of side-effects is proportionately large.
One of the negative characteristics of these preparations is that they can
reactivate latent infections and mask acute disorders, where surgical
intervention may be required. They also reduce resistance to infections and
can bring about disorders of the water and hormonal systems and the blood
pressure, as well as osteoporosis, diabetes, peptic ulcers, hirsutism, acne,
amenorrhoea and psychic disorders.

Dear Group,
I would like to know if anybody has a wide experience treating these
cases. I seem to be having a spate of such cases among teens and young
adults in the past year and find them resistent to treatment.
Any info on the reasons behind the increase in cases would also be much
appreciated.
The symptoms and signs are
Amenorrea or infrequent menses which may alternate with protracted
scanty menses resulting in infertility because of anovulation
Male distibution of hair
Weight gain and
Acne.

regards

Suriya

Dear Barbara

Among the remedies I have tried are the sarcodes including , hypophysin
( pit gld), thyroidinum, and oophorinum as well as the remedies that are
constitutional to their cases..among these Sepia seems to fit the
picture well and Graphite.

I think the idea of a database is good, if people can come up with the
remdies that worked in their cured cases and the sx that called for
those remedies, we could probably compile a database . Also, if we could
just know what kind of foods they ate, their lifestyle then we d have a
clue as to what seems to trigger these cases. They are most definitely
on the rise!

Dear Suriya, you already have the database - it is all in the reps and
materia medicas!!

Carcinosin is often the nosode required as an intercurrent and it has
abnormal hairiness as a keynote.

best, Joy
