Re: Rx for Dogs in view of fireworks
But there are certain remedies prone to fear from loud noises. I thought it
was borax that was "famous" for that sort of situation, but all I find in
rep is
MIND; FEAR; general; noise, from: (3)Sil., (2)ant-c., asar., aur., bell.,
bor., caust., cham., cocc., lyc., nat-s., phos., ther., (1)acon., agar.,
aloe, alum., ars., bar-c., calad., cann-s., canth., caps., carc., chel.,
chin., cic., coff., ferr., gaert., hipp., hura, hyos., ign., kali-c.,
kali-s., lap-c-b., lyss., mag-m., med., mosch., nat-c., nit-ac., nux-v.,
petr., pip-n., puls., sabad., sep., stram., sulph., tab., tanac., tarent.,
zinc.
Which puts borax as only one among many...
But I'd think, Joan, maybe if you use this rubric and also consider the rest
of the dog's personality and "rest of the case", it should lead to a remedy
to reduce that tendency?

Re: Rx for Dogs in view of fireworks
I use Phos on my dog and it works like a charm!!! We have a lot of fireworks
here and 5minutes after taking the remedy he has settled down and is asleep.
Can't get better than that for relaxed

Re: Rx for Dogs in view of fireworks
I think it would depend on the type of fear expressed. If it is intense with
restlessness or timidity, cowering, shaking and trembling, etc - each case
is going to be different and you will get the best results if you use the
details. I would add Kali phos to the other remedies suggested.

Re: Rx for Dogs in view of fireworks
Thanks Joy
Yes I had realised that - I supposed I was being lazy and not using the Rep
effectively!!!!!!!
What prompted my request was that I have a 15 yr old Jack Russell- shy and
timid mainly (unusual!) but barks lots - dominant over other 2 dogs but
shakes at loud noises/shouting etc
Last Pm she was asleep (long after lots of fireworks - during which she
shook and shook ) but all 4 legs were trembling - ,,,so I was prompted to
ask!!
Thanks again

Re: Rx for Dogs in view of fireworks
You might want to add gelsemium to the list of rx then
