Thai Deodorant Stones

Dear Friends and Colleagues

Sometime ago a friend gave me one of these deodorant stones as a present.

The list of elements excludes Aluminium.

On that basis I bought more and gave to friends and relatives.

Some months ago I asked the suppliers to show evidence that it did not have
Aluminium in it. [Colleague had used her pendulum on it which showed that it
contained Aluminium !!!]

When I checked with the Suppliers (Amphora Aromatics in UK) they said that
they had had one of the Universities in UK test it and the stones do in fact
contain the double Salt Ammonium Aluminium Sulphate. Amphora were saying
that they had not been able to get the analysis from the suppliers.

As this substance is readily soluble, it would completely defeat the idea
that by using it we are avoiding to exposure to Aluminium.

Thanks to Dr Sara Klein for high-lighting the problem. It seems that
suppliers labels cannot always be trusted.
