fertility is a healthy state and to suppress it is still considered in
homoeopathic terms to be suppressive and consequently unhealthy. What is

I don't fully agree that "fertility is a healthy state". I agree fertility
is a possibility we all should have in healthy bodies--however, the healthy
state really involves determining how one's own fertility will be used.
It's an option, not an imposition on the body. Everyone must be able to
decide whether or not they wish to have children, because if that decision
is imposed then health cannot result for anyone involved. After all,
sexuality and sexual expression is also healthy; suppressing that has its
costs, too.
Again, its very complex. Condoms, natural birth control methods,
abstinence, what have you...they are all good and suitable for someone.
It's up to the individual person to determine if they will "do the trick"
for their own purpose and situation. Again, in an ideal world, some form of
barrier method like a condom would suit everyone--as long as all men were
absolutely willing to use them, every time; and so long as every single
barrier method were 100% reliable. But we all know this is not the case,
and we all know that in this world, it is most often the woman who bears
full responsibility for preventing conception if this is what will serve her
interests and health. Barrier methods have been used successfully only if
the backup of terminating an unwanted pregnancy goes along with it. Many
women would prefer not to have to face this situation, so they will choose a
method which prevents conception more reliably. That leaves us face to face
with the Birth Control pill, unfortunately.
Nothing prevents us from providing information on alternatives which may
actually be more suitable for our patients, especially if they're using the
BCP just because they don't know about other methods--but I'm not sure we do
them any good by making the "suppressed fertility" decision or declaration
for them. I don't believe fertility is something that should be imposed on
people--it is a sign that organs are in good working order, and nothing
more. The way I understand it, true health means determining how that
option to conceive and reproduce will be used. Certainly having an unwanted
child, against one's will, is far more unhealthy--on physical as well as
emotional levels, and on more than one person, too!-- than using the birth
control pill to ensure that one won't conceive until one is ready to do so.
In my experience, homeopathy can work despite the BCP. So I don't try to
scare patients into quitting its use.
