SHANGRI-LA OF HOMEOPATHY

Hello Group,

Suddenly we find a obsessed person, claiming to be a
traditionalist, with a vow to cleanse homeopathy( esp
our group) and silence all critics. One often comes
across such exclusivism in every corner with benefits
for a select few. Dictators, selfish scientists and
monks are prominent beneficiaries.

In the novel 'The Lost Horizons' by James Hilton, the
lead character Dan Conway would converse with an
inmate of the monastery of Shangri la, about the
validity of diverse religions and schools of thought.
That monk, Chang, will answer,' All religions are
moderately true". This is the logical extension of the
Buddhist doctrine of the golden mean. Now, does this
not apply everywhere ?

Our masters, each unique in their own sphere, had
proposed something new after a life's work on it and
with good reason. The criticism of Kent and Sehgal by
many are such instances of the exclusivism. Now, what
the group is pounded with is another form of the
fundamentalism. To establish truth, they may claim to
do this. Truth is a relative word. One can be on the
path towards truth. That does not mean they found
it.Vivekanada, in his Chicago speech, said:'man does
not move from falsehood to truth. He moves from truth
to truth. From lower truth to higher truth'

To be exclusivist is innate in man.It is the easiest
thing to do. To be an unprejudiced observer, the
person must have an open, inclusivist mindset , not
just tolerance ( The kind which was seen in India for
thousands of years where no one was sentenced for his
ideas and where nearly a hundred yogic schools have
spread besides parsis, judaists, christians, jains,
buddhists and muslims).

Eversince I became a member here I was always
impressed by the maturity and patience shown by the
members to newcomers and their mistakes -however
amateurish they were( incl mine). This new storm is a
further test for the will and sublime strength of our
group.

Hope we emerge stronger.
