Dear Registrant:

To save you time and trouble, Alternative Link will update your ABC code
user/evaluator registration form to meet a new U.S. Department of Health
and Human Services (HHS) information requirement. This will be done
before this Thursday's registration update deadline of midnight (5/29/03).

After the last registration period, HHS extended the registration period
to midnight 5/29/03 but asked us to ensure all past registrants (who had
secured rights to use and evaluate ABC codes in HIPAA transactions) update
their registration forms with new information on their desired categories
of "HIPAA trading partners." HIPAA trading partners are the types of
organizations and practitioners with whom registrants like you would like
to have rights to do business using the new code set.

We believe you would like to reserve the maximum number of options for ABC
code set use, so we will update your registration form automatically to
indicate that preference, unless you would prefer we not do so. Some
examples of trading partner options we will reserve for you include

· top 20 and other commercial health plans;
· leading Medicare Plus Choice, Medicaid and military health plans;
· healthcare provider organizations, such as hospital systems, subacute
care facilities, preferred provider organizations and independent practice
associations;
· administrative and claims-related businesses;
· fully and self-insured employers;
· academic institutions with integrative healthcare programs;
· software developers in both the healthcare and automotive/personal
injury industries; and
· thousands of alternative medicine, nursing and other integrative
healthcare practitioners.

With your form updated, if these potential trading partners indicate that
they would like to do business with registrants like you and authorize us
to contact you on their behalf, we will let you know.

Once you have registered and identified the categories of trading partners
that will be relevant to your organization over the next two years, please
forward this message to all your current trading partners, business
associates, vendors, professional colleagues and constituents, so they,
too, can meet the government deadline for securing rights to use and
evaluate ABC codes.

ID or Social Security number(s), your name, organization(s) (if any),
street address, city, state, zip code, phone number, fax number and email
address so we can find your registration record(s).

If you want to view your trading partner options, you may visit
www.alternativelink.com and glance through the registration form for
organizations. That form includes the complete list of trading partner
categories that registrants can choose to reserve.

Again, we will reserve all categories for you by midnight 5/29/03, unless
you ask us not to do so.
