scope of a remedy

Hi Friends,

Can I have your thoughts on a case I am working on.

I have been reading Sankarans Insight into Plants, and the first chapter
is entitled
"A New Approach to Case taking' based on his Laws and Corollaries he ties
up the main
'feelings' with the chief complaint of the patient.

Based on this, I have the case narrowed down to 'watching' the main
rubric has the 14 remedies of the Delusions being watched.

Now the main complaint is a vascular problem (swelling) on an external
part of the body.
(I do not have permission to post the case, so I am purposefully being
rather vague) but here is my question.

Melilotus has a similar type swelling.

From Mac Rep
"The most important keynote of this remedy is found in the engorgement of
the blood vessels in any part or organ of the body. This is specially
noticed in the head. "

The usual problem is manifested as headaches, as the swelling is inside
the head. Although my clients problem is manifested in an external
swelling. Is this too much of a leap for me to consider this remedy?

Calc carb reps out, but the client is not overweight and although I could
give calc (probably), I would sure like to try the Meli -The modalities
seem to fit.

Dear Maria, Melilotus is a fascinating remedy. I would urge you to try and
get hold of a copy of a case of Tony Grinney's (it was published in the SoH
journal some years ago). If you want to email me privately I can either give
you Tony's phone number or send the case as an attachment (if I can find
it!!). I don't really have to time to do a write up myself at the moment.

Dear Maria,
If you have a vascular affection, in any part of the body, this of
course does show some similarity to Meli.

Perhaps the single symptoms of Agrawal's 'MM of the human mind' will
help you a little bit further to determin, if Meli could be a simile for
your patient.
(single symptoms: are those rubrics, in which the remedy is listed alone
in Kent's Rep, without any other remedies acompanying it):
- Delusion, that everyone is possessed of a devil
- Delusion, that she is mesmerised by her absent pastor
- Fear as if talking loud would kill her
- Insanity eats only refuse

Allen's Encyc. doesn't only list the throbbing in the head, but also
throbbing and fullness in the rectum (internal piles), heavy
nose-bleeds.

In a German MM (Mezger) additional (clinically cured)symptoms are
listed:
Headache exertion.
fresh air
And: Melilotus gets more often used now in prophylaxis of thrombosis and
thrombophlebitis (the main active ingredient is Cumarin).

Hello Joy and Gaby,

Thanks for your response. Thanks for sending Tony's Case, I
am happy to read it.

As far as headaches, this man doesn't have them in his chief
complaint. I will investigate further,
but the vascular swelling is on the outside of the body, and is localized
in one area.

I have just moved office, and have books in two places, so it is
a bit harder to research than usual.
Have several more boxes of books to hike up and down stairs. So I will
grab my Agrawal, (I think I just put it on the book shelf), Thanks.
