After getting registeration at HHBB recently. I read many posts and trying
to get familiar with the atmosphere there. So for I have not entered in
that thread and watching the proceeding outside. Before commenting on I
would like to request to respected Julian Winston to comment.

I would like to request to members to please discuss what is the actual
criteria of homeopath, the eligibility and professionalism after reading
from HHBB completely.

i have read your posts as well as those at HHBB. i think there is a lot of nit-picking that goes on
but nonetheless....

the training of a homeopath varies depending on where you are. however, every course i have
read about covers the same type of material. there is a history, definition as per hahneman, study
of materia medica, reperatory and case taking. some courses are better than others, but these are
the basic components. each country seems to have its own nuances.

as to differences in practice: well, this goes on in every field. if you are looking for a very tight and
rigid statement that has no variation, you will not find it. people are the conversants and people
dont always see things exactly the same. that is why we have dialogue and exchange of ideas.
as a new person to the field, it may feel confusing to you. but if you would open yourself up, you
will find a great deal of dynamism in the dialogues that continue. and as you become more
proficient and comfortable with the concepts of homeopathy, you will feel more comfortable
reading the varying viewpoints that exist. you will then have to make up your own mind as to
what positions you take on different topics.

One of the BIG problems with Homeopathy in the USA is the fact
there are no professional standards for practicing Homeopathy.
Training programs/courses are a proverbial 'cosmic soup.'
Many practice with little understanding of anatomy, physiology,
pathophysiology, pharmacology, etc. Homeopathy is a Holistic
practice but it seems all anyone cares about is finding a remedy
- as if THAT will cure everyone's problems. It is just ONE of the
tools of Homeopathy, but not the 'totality' of its tools. The practice
of Homeopathy is just rolled into the "I want it now" culture in this
country. Many take it up as a vendetta against the allopathic
system, not because they are truly committed to holistic care.
The study and practice is Homeopathy is a lifestyle. It will take
hard work, long hours, and a selfless devotion to help people.
When you have been studying and working in the field for 20
years, you can then say you are just beginning. If you want a 3
week course and then start handing out remedies - well, God
help your patients. All this is my opinion only, take it for whatever
you want.

It's just this situation that the CHC exam and NASH are hoping to remedy.
Yes, we do indeed need national standards, both for the sake of our patients
and for the sake of our group credibility.
