Thiosinamine

Post by Jenny Decker »

I know that a recent proving of Thiosinamine has been published, but not where. Does anyone have information on Thios beyond its use as a scar and stricture remedy?

Thanks,
Jenny Decker

The IFH Casebook ("Small Remedies and Interesting Cases") has a fascinating
presentation of Thios cases. Here's the first part (from RefWks). (Let me
know if you want me to post the cases and discussion that follow, as well.)

BTW those books are *wonderful*, with lots of discussion from the audience
as to what remedies are thought of and why, why the practitioner chose the
remedy they did, etc., etc. I highly recommend them!

David Riley, MD
THREE CASES OF INFERTILITY AND PELVIC INFLAMMATORY DISEASE (PID)
David Riley is board-certified in Internal Medicine and a graduate of
the Hahnemann College of Homeopathy. He lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where
he practices homeopathy and is conducting an ongoing series of classical
homeopathic drug provings.
An Introduction to Thiosinaminum
(Derived from Oil of Mustard)
This remedy has been effective in curing adhesions, cicatrices, lupus,
enlarged lymphatic glands, stricture of rectum, tinnitus aurium, and tumors
of the uterus appendages. We need provings of this medicine; it has great
possibilities of cure in serious conditions of disease.
‹Grimmer
-- I had the good fortune of being introduced to this remedy in 1987.
It was mentioned in passing by another homeopath. About one year later I
used it successfully for one patient, and over the years I have used it with
some success for five other patients with a variety of conditions. As I was
preparing this presentation I was surprised to discover that I had used this
remedy 12 times.
-- The most striking cases in terms of consistent results were three
cases of infertility secondary to pelvic inflammatory disease. The patients
in these cases had several symptoms in common: the appearance of scarring
(particularly pelvic scarring), in conjunction with depression, alternating
moods, and aversion to consolation. They also had confirmatory symptoms of
seasonal allergies and increased urination at night.
-- The title of this presentation refers to the three successful
Thiosinaminum prescriptions in the first two cases. (Case Number 2 actually
contains two successful Thiosinaminum prescriptions, resulting in
pregnancies 1H years apart.) In Case Number 3, the patient has not yet
become pregnant, but she has made significant progress on the mental and
emotional levels after receiving Thiosinaminum.
-- I will also briefly present two more cases in which I have used
Thiosinaminum with considerable benefit. Each case, although more or less a
keynote prescription, is quite interesting and demonstrates the wider range
of therapeutic uses of the remedy. The positive result in each case was
confirmed by a follow-up diagnostic exam.
-- In the past two years I have been consciously trying to explore and
develop some of the edges of this remedy on several levels. I have attempted
to pay more attention to characteristics other than physical scarring that
may be associated with the remedy, including the possibility of depression
involving emotional "scarring." But I must admit that this remedy still
enters into my differential diagnosis primarily on the basis of physical
pathology.
-- I hope that our discussion today will stimulate others to use this
remedy so that we can refine our collective understanding of it. One of the
most difficult aspects of using the remedy is learning how to pronounce and
spell it! It wasn't until I prepared this talk that I was able to
consistently do this correctly.

Dear Jenny
The proving was done by North West College of Homeopathy in Manchester under
the auspices of Anthony Grinney. There is also a write up in the Society of
Homeopaths Journal. I will send you some details of the proving in a Word
attachment which is too long to send here offlist.
