using Radar, i crossed
GENERALS - SUN - exposure to the sun - amel.
GENERALS - SEASONS - winter; in - agg.
Stront c is the top rx followed by kali c and rhus tox. Sol does not come up in 113 remedies.
I would not prescribe based on this alone, but this indicates that logical thought, like Sol, does not always lead to an appropriate choice of rx.

Re: SAD
Hi Rochelle,
Thanks for the info. but I still do not get how adding sun to a lack of sun is homeopathic ?
You quote from Vermeulen:
" A 'dose' of sunshine may provide the stimulus to initiate progression and stop stagnation."
This to me is based on the law of opposites. It may work but it would not be homeopathy. Can anyone explain? I am really trying to understand the logic here.
I treat my daughter who suffers from SAD. When she gets VERY depressed I send her for a tanning session, the lights tend to palliate. I have also treated with Rhus-t., Aurum and Arsenicum as the symptoms dictated. We are presently looking into full spectrum lighting (www.northernlight-tech.com) which she will use on a daily basis. She is also on multi-vitamins and minerals and when needed alfalfa tonic. It does not cure it all only palliates.....but with SAD palliation is good!!

Re: SAD
I might not have followed from the beginning, but the basic question
seems to me "why does she suffer from SAD? What happened that she got
into that situation?"
It is happening to her, not to her friends, not to her neighbours.......
so something is not correct here......... I am not saying it is easy to
dig that out, I am saying that should be the track to follow.
For once I have to agree with Dave
) it seems that too much attention
is given to the name of the condition........... relating it to the
pineal gland is a nice physiological explanation, but then why is her
pineal gland not working properly; if you manage to activate her pineal
gland with organotherapy, and it is possible, very good, that will
probably shift the problem somewhere else. I have done that with thyroid
problems, resolve hypothyroidism and see something else appear; so now,
I still activate the glands while trying to get to the roots.
And yes, in the meantime, palliate as much as you can so the situation
does not worsen.
