Re query

Post by Jean Doherty »

Thank you Andy, jdurfee ,Rochelle, The information most useful.
I am at a loss to know what to do with this very morbidly depressed woman
who presently rings me several times daily. In the 5 years since been
involved she insists on sticking with me as she says the remedies have kept
her out of psych hospital .
2 big things
MIND; ROCKING; amel. (K75, SI 861)(Carried; desires to be)(Delirium; rocking
to a fro amel.)(Irritability; rocking amel.) (12) : merc-c.76, acon.,
calc.6, carb-an.3, cham., cina, kali-c.3, puls., pyrog.3, rhus-t.,
sac-alb.13, sec.6

MIND; SADNESS, despondency, dejection, mental depression, gloom, melancholy;
happy, on seeing others (K77, SI 880) (3) : cic.11, hell.16, helon.

She did respond well to Hellebore for a few months. At that time she was
tripping over a lot.
Other remedies that have lifted her for a time were TUB, Platina[often
dramatically helpful when suicidal and weeping]] Calc the first remedy I
ever used on her. She can sit and count bricks for hours. Rhus Tox has
helped when suicidal and restless Her dejection ,sadness ,depression.
wishing she was dead, brought on by any rejection, perceived insult. She
can not do without contact with her daughter,,her husband when he was alive
,or get on with them when they are present. Everything is a tremendous
drama, she keeps repeating herself,{platina] easily becomes abusive and
angry. Not at all pleased if she thinks something aggravates. Keeps asking
me am I sure??, do I understand?/ She is diabetic. With all the
negative stuff can at times be compassionate and fun and can help others in
trouble. She is a big woman with dyed hair, dresses outrageously. If you
saw her flat you would immediately wish to give her 10M Sulphur. but for
some reason I have not used Sulphur. Her psychiatrist has died, another
support has gone overseas, her daughter has left town and she has forgotten
all the aggro she caused continually extracting money from her and wants
her back. At times I have not heard from her for 4 months
I think on reading what Andy and Jdurfee sent sac alb could cover her
insatiable need for attention and reassurance. She has had desire for
sweets from childhood. Today I was exploring whether she ever thumb sucked.
She apparently had a dummy until about 3 and lost one about that time and
her Dad refused to replace it. She cried for weeks {she says}. She wore
out a couch rocking on it, Still rocks in anxious depressed states and when
troubled strokes her lips and smokes. At one time a great desire to be held
and kissed for long periods, [todays exploration] Her mother did not give
her affection, [she says] She drinks Coke and diet coke which I have tried
to tell her may keep antidoting remedy as well as aggravating diabetes and
poisoning her with aspartite. Aggravation would make my life and hers
difficult . I however advised her to use sac off {only form available] in
30 c for 5 days and pray it will help in some way. Jean

Hi Jean, thanks for the interesting info on what sounds like a barrel of laughs case :-).

Couple of ideas:
1. Heres a rubric made up from a referenceworks search of "rocking amel". Note that this shows how limited the repertory can be in cases with only one or two sx.

rocking amel : acon., ars., bell., calc., carb-an., carc., cham., Cina, hyos., Kali-c., lap-mar-c., merc-c., oci-s., phos., plb., puls., pyrog., rhus-t., sac-alb., sec.

2. 1. Heres a rubric made up from a referenceworks search of "rocking amel" in the same remedy as "company amel":

rocking amel in the same remedy as company amel : ars., bell., carb-an., Kali-c., lap-mar-c., oci-s., phos., plb.
3. Just a random thought- rocking could be taken as an
analogical version of restless legs while sitting, leading to zinc, anac, or one of these other rems:

extremities; P; RESTLESSNESS; lower limbs; legs; sitting, while (m, 4): alum., anac., plat., tax.
Hope this useful,
Andy

Hi Andy,

wouldn't you consider restless-leg & similar as more neurological than
rocking, which is more volitional & seems likely a "self-comfort" ?

Can be so easy to get off-track w/analogies..
