PMR case

Post by Joy Lucas »

Dear All, thanks to so many of you who emailed me privately about what you
thought the remedy might be.

I was hoping that you would all send your ideas to the group as a whole but
I am beginning to understand why you didn't.

In my humble opinion I think it is very important what allopathic diagnosis
the client has been given - in as much as we need to know all we can about
anatomy, physiology and pathology. We need to know how the named disease
will progress, what are the common symptoms attributed to it and also the
less common symptoms as well. This information we can then set aside from
all the other symptoms of the case, i.e. how the client is responding to
this diseased state (on all levels, physical, emotional and mental) compared
to how they were before, etc, etc. But the named diseased state is only part
of the case taking, case analysis and case presentation. There is so much
more one has to do to find the simillimum, but I could never undertake
presenting a case without mentioning the presenting complaint - whether it
be Hay Fever, Strep throat, broken leg, schyzophrenia, or PMR, or anything
else.

Anyway, to all those who are interested, the remedy is GELSEMIUM.

I also hope in future that many of you WILL post your thoughts on cases to
the group. I have tried to work hard at establishing an online communication
process about cases - they are and always will be the practise of
homeopathy, on which we use our knowledge.

Best wishes, Joy

Thank you for sharing this case with us, Joy, and for your thoughful presentation of why we do need information on the diagnosis, not only to have an idea of how the case might progress but also to better understand the unique ways in which this disease manifests in this particular individual.

Peace,
Cinnabar
