Dear list,
Regulary patients emphasize that this or that symptom aggravates or is
caused by stress (at work or at home...).
"I got this sore throat everytime I'm under stress".
What could be the approbiate rub. for this (such a) symptom?
Maybe there is more in Synthesis?
Thanks in advance for your help.

other rubric question: stress
Re: other rubric question: stress
Dear Jan, it would be more reliable if you focussed in on what stress means
to each individual client and research from there. It is a really over used
word and can mean many things to many people and to get to the core of the
case one needs to open up these figures of speech.

Re: other rubric question: stress
Hi, Jan.
You hit a jackpot question there!!!
It's one of those situations where modern vocabulary has created a catch-all
term that is so general it's not very useful for homeopathic diagnosis.
Actually the whole list of "ailments from" in the Repertory is a list of
stressors that arouse symptoms. So the "easy" answer is to ask questions
until you can identify the word to fill the blank after "ailments
from_______".
Stress means any challenge. But as people use it colloquially, it means
physical or emotional challenges that they perceive as overwhelming (there's
another popular word, even harder to figure out how to repertorize!!); that
is, they experience symptoms whenever that challenge arises. You can respond
to their statement of stress as a cause with an open question such as "Can
you tell me a bit more about what's going on when you get these sore
throats?" Or "Can you give me an example of what happens when you're under
stress?"
In other words, as often as we think about stress, the word functions as a
mask for underlying realities that we need to get to and identify in order
to treat someone.

Re: other rubric question: stress
Jan, a follow up line of questioning that occurs to me is to pin down specifically what is perceived as causing the stress: what happened? This could lead to particulars for repertorisation.
