Aphorism 100

Post by Murray Feldman »

I believe that what Hahnemann means here is that since they (smallpox, measles, scarlatina etc) are contagious diseases--the contagious agent is the same for each individual disease. Since the contagious agent (morbific agent) is the same for each of these contagious diseases, the course, stages and nature of each of these diseases are the same also. This is why Hahnemann could say that Belladonna was a prophylactic for scarlatina.
Hahnemann did believe in the contagion principle.
Sincerely
Murray
