Leg Ulcer.Dr. J Rozencwajg

THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR REPLY. AGAIN I HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS IN REPLY TO YOUR
POINTS:
The occlusion can be a clot in acute situation but more probably an
occlusion caused by atherosclerosis and superimposed clots.
DO U THINK THIS COULD BE THE CASE IF HE'S NEVER HAD ANY HEART/CIRC. PROBS
BEFORE
(except for v/veins, which have never been treated) HE'S NEVER HAD
TO HAVE ANY MEDICATION FOR ANYTHING. HE'S ALWAYS HAD LOW BP, UNTIL VERY
RECENTLY THEY DECIDED TO PUT HIM ON TABLETS AS HE'S HAVING A CATARACT OP.
I'M VERY SURPRISED I DONT KNOW WHEN/WHY HE HAS NOW GOT BP ALL OF A SUDDEN HE
CERTAINLY DIDNT A FEW MTHS AGO!

The only X
Rays able to demonstrate that is an angiogram, i.e. an X Ray of the
arteries with injection of contrast. DO U THINK WE SHOULD TRY &
SUGGEST/PERSUED HIS DR TO ARRANGE THIS?
That does not prevent you from giving the
indicated remedy, but as long as there is not a positive identification
of the situation (yes or no does he need surgery), you are playing with
fire. NOT QUITE SURE WHAT YOU MEAN BY THIS, DO U MEAN IN TERMS OF GIVING
HIM A REMEDY, IF SO WHAT HARM CAN A REMEDY DO?

I WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR COMMENTS & THANK YOU IN ANTICIPATION.
Shanny G

Thank you again for responding to my queries.
Just to let you know, my Dad saw both the Dr & Nurse today,
The x-ray showed that there is no damage to the bone & he was given a
Doppler test, which apparently showed results that were better than one
would expect for someone of my Dad's age (so thats a relief). It seems that
he has 2 ulcers (not 3 as mentioned), the existing one, which they say is
clearing up (& she has taken a swab of it - not quite sure why if its on the
mend!) & one that could be forming. She has changed his analgesics to
coproximal & they have put 3 banadages on his leg & that won't be changed
until friday. He's not due to see the Dr again until 2 wks time -
apparently cos she's away!

So altho nothing has been mentioned about an agiogram,
prognosis does seem more favourable. However, I have suggested to my Dad
that if things are the same on Friday (when he sees the nurse again), that
he could tactfully mention about the angiogram/specialist.

In the meantime I've suggested that he take carbo-veg, altho I'm still
wondering if I should give him something like Crataegus or CCC if it is a
circulatory problem?

Thanks again
