OK so maybe I should try it again. So how long would you steam it for? Is it
ever tender? Maybe better stir fried?

Re: Kale - totally ff topic?
being a serendipity type of cook, i steam or saute to taste. i dont like my greens mushy and try to undercook. sometimes i leave them very undercooked to match texture with carrots, for example; and sometimes i like them a little more done. if being used in a soup such as lentil, they will probably be a little on the 'more cooked' side, chopped into small pieces. but trust your own judgement and do the taste test.

Ah yes... well, how about "removing obstacles to the cure" -- proper
lifestyle?
Or how about, "physician, heal thyself"?
