Hi Arlene,
Certainly it would be of great value to treat homeopathically and to study
severe cases of WNV
Here in the U.S., we have generally little oppportunity to do so first-hand.
I believe that if you got "up to speed" on encephalitis / menningitis /
fevers in general and studied remedies known for corresponding symptom
pictures, you would be reasonably well prepared in the unlikely event that
you had the opportunity to treat one of the approximately 1 per 20,000
persons who will statistically be quite ill in what is heralded as an
epidimic of this so-called deadly & life threatening scourge.
In terms of mosquito prophylaxis, I should've written Herbal/Natural
mosquito repellent... I certainly would strongly recommend against anyone
using chemical repellents, especially against DEET, the most common
ingredient.
I use "Jungle Juice" .. there is another brand which has been tested as more
effective (I haven't tried it yet) called "Buzz Away" which is citronella
based. MANY other alternatives exist, including Neem, widely used in India.
Of course- long sleeves, screens, netting, etc, in areas where of endemic
mosquito borne disease.
So far, in the U.S, Romania,. & Israel, deaths have occurred only in
elderly, so elders should be protected more carefully from exposure.
There are about 6 million people living in Israel. The CDC reports a "severe
epidemic" of WNV in year 2000- consisting of 326 cases severe enough to
require hospitalization.
Again, this points up the sensationalism and devious misdirection -
approximately one in 18,000 persons required hospitalization, the dead were
33 persons out of 6,000,000.
This is statistically insignificant when compared to the JAMA reported
iatrogenic death figures of 1 person per 1,000.
According to one of their own foremost journals, the medical establishment
has taken responsibility for being the direct cause of death in an
approximately 200:1 ratio as compared to a "severe epidemic" of WNV.
Which is the real threat, the real epidemic? This is the thing which I am
attempting to get across !
God only knows what the true death toll of iatrogenesis is- the medical
establishment is notorious for lying and covering up evidence in attempting
to evade such responsibility- all we see is the proverbial tip of the
iceberg. Surely there is at least 10 times as many cases where at least 80%
of death and suffering is iatrogenic.
Rather than being threatened with "severe epidemic" of WNV (or other named
disease-of-the-month) .. we are under constant onslaught; continual barrage
of psychological warfare perpetrated against us by those directly
responsible for the largest SEVERE EPIDEMIC - the severe epidemic of
iatrogenic death, and the severe epidemic of iatrogenic illness (vaccines=
very large co-factor)

West Nile (WN) virus is endemic in Israel. The last reported outbreak had
occurred in 1981. From August to October 2000 417 cases were confirmed,
with 326 hospitalizations. The main clinical presentations were encephalitis
(57.9%), febrile disease (24.4%), and meningitis (15.9%). Within the study
group, 33 (14.1%) hospitalized patients died. Mortality was higher among
patients >70 years (29.3%). On multivariate regressional analysis,
independent predictors of death were age >70 years (odds ratio [OR] 7.7),
change in level of consciousness (OR 9.0), and anemia (OR 2.7). In contrast
to prior reports, WN fever appears to be a severe illness with high rate of
central nervous system involvement and a particularly grim outcome in the
elderly.
symptom # %
Fever >38?C 229 (98.3)
Headache 135 (57.9)

I hope that this puts the issue in perspective.
