Are we practicing holistic medicine?

Hello,
This time I want to make some comments on holism and
our place. I will try to answer the question "Are
homoeopaths practicing holistic medicine?".
Holism means to consider everything as a whole.
Reductionism is the study of parts of a system to gain
full knowledge about the totality of the system. What
we do in the modern science is absolute reductionism.
We try to go into atom, nucleus, etc to obtain deeper
knowledge. But people with holistic views try to see
the whole and obtain a deep knowledge. You may be
confused how they can do that. This is because we have
grown up in an entirely reductionist world. I think
people of 1000 years ago could understand the concept
much more easily.
In my view, holism does not rule out reductionism. To
be holistic, we have to use reductionism as a tool to
gain deeper knowledge. But, we have to understand many
other things. We know that a system is greater than
the sum of its parts. As holistic physicians, we have
to know anatomy, physiology, pathology, etc but this
is a small part of our job. We have to know art,
psychology, psychiatry, sociology, physics, energy
healing, economics, etc. We have to know our world so
well. Then we can claim that we are holistic persons.
Studying all the mentioned areas of science needs much
effort and time. But it is obvious that if we spend
all our time on these, still we know very little. So,
what is the solution? The solution consists of two
parts:
1- Studying as much as possible
2- Purifying oneself and approaching God
The second part is the only true way and nothing can
take its place. The true holistic people are prophets
and men/women of God. They can heal not only the
body/emotion/mind, but also the souls. These are true
healers. However, we have the duty to do the first
part as well. Although great spiritual people see many
things, they also study. God has wanted us to do that.
Now can we say that we are holistic doctors? Do we
know many things? Have we experinced highly spiritual
worlds? We many times prescribe on two or three
symptoms. Are we holistic doctors?
Fuzzy logic is a kind of logic in which every
statement can be either true, or false, or both. For
example the statement "That car goes fast." can be %80
or %50 true. It depends on our criteria. In classic
logic we only have %100 true or %0 true. Real world is
fuzzy and almost everything is gray (neither white nor
black). With this introduction, I can say that
allopaths are approximately %0 holistic doctors. Some
homoeopaths are %10, some are %50, etc. It depends on
the homoeopath and his/her depth of knowledge and
spirituality. Those people who prescribe homoeopathic
remedies according to mechanical repertorization or
those who give specific remedies with closed eyes do
not differ much from allopaths. They are people who
think they are doing homoeopathy, but they actually do
not.
I hope some day all of us become true holistic beings.
Sincerely,
Feras Hakkak
