Raha's case

Post by Mary-anne Black »

Hello Raha,

Have you considered Crocus sativa for the below case?

Synthesis repertory: FEMALE GENITALIA/SEX: Menses/ appear, as if menses
would appear/injury; after: CROC

Clarke's materia medica:
CHARACTERISTICS:
"Crocus has three characteristics which clearly call for its use when met.
The first is hemorrhage from various parts (nose, uterus, etc.) when the
blood is black, viscid, clotting, forming itself into long black strings,
hanging from the bleeding orifice....."
FEMALE SEXUAL ORGANS: "abdomen swollen (these symptoms, when occuring in
females, as they often do at the change of life and at other times, may lead
to the erroneous idea of pregnancy......Hemorrhage from the uterus (during
the least movement)."

MATERIA MEDICA OF THE MIND (CHIKARA):
Here are some rubrics that may fit:
DELUSIONS/ business, unfit for, he is (italics)
INSANITY, MADNESS/alternating with physical symptoms. (italics)
/behaves like a crazy person. (plain type)
SADNESS/despondency, dejection, mental depression, gloom, melancholy
(italics)
SADNESS/anxious (italics)
YEILDING DISPOSITION
CHEERFUL GAY HAPPY

According to the description of the remedy, there is anger alternating with
quick repentence.

Sankaran writes in Soul of Remedies:
"In my experience, Crocus is indicated more for females. There is a feeling
of dependence on the man, a feeling of being unfit for business, and a need
to be attractive for the man. The situation of Crocus might therefore be
that of a woman who is being neglected by her very dominating husband. There
is a threat of his going away because he is no longer attracted by her. In
this situation, her attractive behaviour would serve to keep him drawn
towards her, while the aggressive behaviour and rage would prevent him from
being too dominating....
Among the strong physical concomittants are the stringy discharges,
especially the stringy blood of the menses and the epitaxis."

There also seems to be a strong feeling of persecution in this case. A lot
of lamenting about "Why this happening to me?".
Sankaran compares it to Lyssinum in (soul of remedies) which has a strong
feeling of being tormented. But he cites the difference as being that Crocus
has more attractiveness.
Certainly the violence can be seen in how she describes her pains.

Wishing well with this case!
Namaste,
Mary-anne Black
